Welcome to the Intuitive Runner with Nigel Hill. I am an ultra-trail runner, father, husband and business owner of NHL Landscaping. I began running in high school, doing triathlons and then moved to VFL footy, played for Williamstown FC before moving to different leagues across Victoria, after I retired from footy at age 32 and did his first Melbourne Marathon in 2012 two days before my daughter Eliza was born.&nbsp; What I learnt from the first marathon would shape how I would approach every other event I would do in the future. That marathon became the foundation and I built on it with every race,That formula for success got me to my ultimate achievement of Winning Down Under 135-mile race in 2021 and the GSER 100 mile in 2022 and a few other podium places in between. I am someone who takes the trial-and-error process and I make it work for me, squeezing every little piece of information out of each experience and using it to move forward. Reflection is a superpower. My philosophy is that there are never any mistakes just new information to gather and use, that trusting yourself and your body to make the next right move for you is everything, when you have that trust you gather evidence towards the next great thing that you can achieve. We truly can do anything we put our minds to.

As a Queer Black woman who is currently completing her PhD at the University of Toronto I have often felt like sharing my experiences for a great many reasons that include the fact that I am a mature student doing what many parents don't often get an opportunity to do. And because of this I have had an come to feel a responsibility to vocalize my experiences within this local educational institution from beginning with my times through an access program to (undergraduate) then on to graduate, Applying myself in such a way that my own children and grandchildren could be proud of. Then when the invitation for a fully-funded academic experience was extended to me I was flattered. With a feeling like many students have shared with me after working diligently to achieve excellence this level of acknowledgement for all that effort by extending such an invitation. With my family, friends, and community seeming to be ecstatic which thrilled me even more. This being especially so since I had now given them two things to celebrate, including becoming a published author that they could now access at our local Indigo, or Amazon. With these seeming to be accomplishments for them and or being a bit of sunshine brought in during a global pandemic that had many frightened for their life. With a whole lot of sharing of bad news going on. From social distancing, to lockdowns, we seemed to have frightening news to share. Or at least that was what I thought of during the time of the Pandemic which signaled some of the worst experiences that were to come. Begining that fall as I began my PhD, with many challenges coming at me until I wasn't sure I could survive. And those challenges have yet to become calm. So I'm sharing those challenges which include the many mental, physical, and spiritual challenges that students in this facility have to navigate which include attacks this institution has made on my own person to this date, which have served as such an eye opener that I feel compelled to share in protection of our young learners who these hostile and even deadly forms of treatments guised in education are aimed.
