BART is the San Francisco and surrounding Bay Area’s public transit system. In many stations and surrounding areas, you will find the lost souls that have been eaten up by addiction and mental illness. When you come across many of the BART stations and corridors connecting the transit system, what you will see may be a shock to you. You see homeless people lined up stretching the span of the corridors, many of which are active drug users actively using drugs in plain view, vomit, needles, feces, urine, and garbage that has been left behind. Some call these people Junkies, others see them as human beings who have been all but forgotten and written off to the dark side of society. 

The question is, how do we solve this epidemic? 1 in 5  in California are homeless. It’s estimated that there are over 3 million people in California addicted to illegal drugs. Thats not counting the people that are addicted to “legal” prescription based drugs.

Tad Stringam grew up in a devout Mormon family. That didn't stop him from engaging in crime and drug abuse at an early age. He was in and out of treatment facilities as youth and eventually did almost 12 years state and federal prison. Tad spent many years in maximum security and the gang. Hanna Marks grew up around the rooms of 12 step programs, and drank for the first time at age 11.
