Many people let their circumstances define their lives and tell their stories, but adopting a growth mindset is more likely to lead to success. In this episode of The Wellness Revolution, Amber is joined by thought leader Mike "C-Roc" Ciorrocco, an expert in personal growth. During this conversation, Amber and Mike discuss how we are all unstoppable and can live any life we desire.
From a young age, Mike displayed a talent for pointing out qualities in people that they may not have been able to see themselves, and he had an ability and desire to motivate people. Mike believes we must have conviction about the things that we know to be true, feel our power in being able to change the course of our lives at any time, and find the aspect of the story that will propel us forward.
Instead of thinking of bad events in life as setbacks, Mike encourages us to see them as lessons and investments. He says that when we are comfortable all the time, we can become complacent without even realizing it. When we are faced with wake up calls or tough events in our lives, Mike encourages people to use them to create something that benefits us. In this episode, Mike goes into this further and shares many great pieces of advice and practical ways of thinking that anyone can benefit from.

This is part 5 of Amber's series about shifts that are necessary to achieve sustainable weight loss, keep the weight off, and create a lifestyle that feels effortless. It all boils down to habit and mindset changes that allow you to live a lifestyle that works for you and gets you off the diet wagon once and for all. If you haven't checked out parts 1-4 yet, go through them and really let those ideas sink in before capping things off with shift number 5. They lay the foundation that this final shift can't exist without because sustainable weight loss starts with your mindset and your initiative.
Shift number 5 is a shift that literally changed Amber's life and yanked her off the endless diet train and out of the vicious spiral of continually gaining back lost weight, with reinforced nasty habits to boot! What was that life-altering final step?
She hired a mentor.
Her mentor helped her unravel her limiting beliefs around food and her own body, and as a result, led her down a better path. That mentor wasn't cheap, but Amber was dead tired of doing things on her own. She didn't necessarily need more information. She needed accountability, guidance, and a streamlined process. Really, she needed somebody who could be her cheerleader without judging her for her unproductive beliefs and unhealthy habits. In other words, Amber needed someone who could give her the confidence to continue on when things weren't going as planned.
If the pain of sliding back into old habits (and your old weight!) is greater than the pain of writing a relatively sizable check for a high-quality mentor, go with the mentor! For Amber, that decision was the best she's ever made in her life, and it could be for yours, too, if you decide to take the leap.

Up until recently, anyone who wanted to quit alcohol would be hard-pressed to find resources that didn't use the words "recovery", "addiction", or other similarly scary, shame-inducing terms. That's true even today. What's more, the majority of experts typically recommend either going on a highly-restrictive program or drinking only "in moderation". Our guest, Amanda Kuda, has tried (and failed) to quit alcohol using both approaches. Today she does a deep dive into how she has found a third way to finally enjoy an alcohol-free life—and has since helped countless other women do the same!
Unable to find the right coach for herself, Amanda dedicated herself to mastering the principles of habit formation and personal & spiritual development, in order to gradually change her relationship with alcohol. It all started with getting clear on those areas in her life in which she fell back on alcohol as a tool to deal with life's various challenges.
"As soon as alcohol was out of the way," Amanda says, "my whole world opened up. All of the pieces that I've been putting into place before then to improve myself: to be more emotionally regulated and stable, to be spiritually happier, and to be more abundant—all of a sudden, those things started working tenfold."
In this episode, Amanda shares how her refusal to live a "moderate life" motivated her to completely remove alcohol from the picture, and how she totally transformed at the physical, mental, emotional, and even spiritual level as a result. She discusses the importance of embracing the authentic you that's just waiting to be unearthed once you become content with facing the challenges of life without the numbing effect of alcohol. As she explains, the urge to drink is just the symptom. Once you identify the root, you can make healthier, more objective lifestyle decisions toward living an alcohol-free life. Tune in for more!

This is part 4 of Amber's series about shifts that are necessary to achieve sustainable weight loss, keep the weight off, and create a lifestyle that feels effortless. It all boils down to habit and mindset changes that allow you to live a lifestyle that works for you and gets you off the diet wagon once and for all. Check out parts 1-3 if you haven't already because they set the stage for the big game changer that is shift number 4. This one was a huge dial mover for Amber, and if you can't master this one, then none of the others really matter. Without making this crucial mindset shift, you will remain a prisoner to food, and no one wants that. The key lies in healing your relationship with food.
Dysfunctional relationships with food are so common, and many women don't even realize that their relationship with food needs healing, but here is what everyone needs to hear: Your relationship with food is not your fault. There is so much advice out there about what to eat and what not to eat, that these ideas of "good" food vs. "bad" food have been ingrained in us for so long. Mama, it's time to ditch the idea of food morality because the truth is, food is food. If you ever feel anxious about food or guilty for eating something you think is "bad", then take a look into your relationship with food and let's think about human tendencies here. As humans, when someone tells us we can't do something, what usually happens? We focus on the one thing we aren't supposed to do. By making this seemingly simple mindset shift that food is food and that you are a grown woman who can eat what you want, your relationship with food can heal and become something you can be consistent with.
When you start operating out of this mindset, you can move into your rational mind and think about, "Okay I can have this cookie, but what am I really craving? Can I have a healthier alternative that will satisfy my craving?" If you want to get off the diet roller coaster, you need to own this new mindset. It might be scary for some women because they think it will lead to binging, but Amber promises that if you can just start to make this shift, you can change the way you look at food, end the guilt spiral, and let go of the common "all or nothing" mentality. If you don't get a grip on this piece of it, everything will be "just another diet." By mastering this one shift, you will be able to be consistent with the first 3 and that is the name of the game.

Nutrition is an important aspect of our lives that matters from the time we are born and all throughout adulthood, so why is there not more research and talk about what we can eat every day to live a long and healthy life? That is the goal of Amber's guest Dr. Joseph Antoun. Dr. Joseph is CEO & Chairman of the Board of L-Nutra and a Member of the Forbes Business Development Council. He has his Doctorate in Medicine and Masters' in Medical and Biological Sciences at Saint Joseph University.
His focus is on seeing people before they are sick by tailoring nutrition as medicine and aiming for longevity. The goal is to prevent disease by living a lifestyle that combats the causes of diseases instead of relying on conventional medicine when diseases are present. Conventional medicine of course has a very important role in our lives, but we want to not have to use them in the first place, and instead live a life that sets us up for health and longevity from the get-go.
In this episode, Dr. Joseph explains that a lot of diseases happen later in life due to the lifestyle choices that people make, and may not even be aware of the negative consequences. Factors such as nutrition, stress, happiness, and exercise play a major role, and this is what Dr. Joseph has dedicated his career to educating people on. He takes a deep dive into the topic of fasting and explains what happens in our bodies when we fast, the benefits of fasting, different forms of fasting, and the optimal windows for certain goals. Tune in for more!

This episode is part 3 of Amber's series about shifts that are necessary to achieve sustainable weight loss that is effortless and most of all, works for you. If you haven't already tuned in to part 1, make sure you check that out here, and you can find part two here. While the last two episodes in this series covered some mental shifts that you need to make in order to be able to achieve sustainable weight loss, part 3 is more of a tactical shift. In order to get out of the vicious cycle of dieting, you first need to realize that diets don't work long-term and this is a lifestyle shift, not a quick fix, which means it is so important to focus on the habits and process instead of just the goal of losing weight.
The third shift that Amber covers in this episode involves using our food as medicine and working with our bodies instead of trying to do diets and crazy exercises that will actually work against us. Hormones play a huge role in fat loss, and they cannot be ignored in the equation of learning how to reach our weight loss goals in a healthy way. The key is to make sure our hormones are balanced as best as we can, and this does not have to be complicated. Amber explains the role that insulin plays in fat loss, and how we can use both food and the timing of our meals to control insulin throughout the day.
A key factor in Amber's programs is her hormonal fat loss blueprint, and in this episode, you will hear what looks like for the women that join Amber's 6-month program. While food and exercise are obviously big factors for weight loss, we also have to pay attention to the effects that stress can have on our bodies if we are not focusing on ways to mitigate it. When we think about stress, we often think of mental stress, but the physical stress we can put on our bodies is important to take into account. This means getting enough sleep, not over-exercising, getting in enough calories, and more. Weight loss is so much more than calories in vs. calories out, and we need to look at other health markers that play a role in our ability to not only be healthy, but to lose weight.

This episode is part 2 of Amber's series about shifts that are necessary to achieve sustainable weight loss that is effortless and most of all, works for you. If you haven't already tuned in to part 1, make sure you check that out here. The first shift that is needed to achieve sustainable weight loss, is realizing that diets do not work. The second part is to stop focusing on weight loss. It has been proven that solely focusing on the end result of a goal is not what actually gets us there. The key is to focus on the process, which means working backward and figuring out what you need to do in order to reach your goal.
Another really important factor to mention is that the process needs to be tailored to your lifestyle or you'll have a really hard time sticking with it. If you are trying to follow the routines and lifestyle of some influencer online, and you find yourself struggling to stay on track, it's probably just not for you, and that's okay. You don't need to work out at 5 AM just because someone on Instagram said so. When you are trying to establish habits that work for your life, it is not about what works for someone else, it's about honoring and recognizing that your life is unique, so we want to find what is ideal for YOU.
If you find yourself constantly saying you "fell off the wagon", Amber wants you to know, there is absolutely nothing wrong with you as a person. Most likely, the program or habits that you have been incorporating are just not realistic for you. Amber is all about making a healthy lifestyle both enjoyable and sustainable so that you can keep it up long term and not continue to burn out and feel worse each time that a diet doesn't work out.
We want to think about the choices we can make to move the needle forward while using our food as medicine and enjoying life in the process. In time, weight loss will be the byproduct so there is absolutely no reason this should be a stressful process. Tune in next week for part 3!

As someone that was always chasing diets and falling off the wagon, Amber knows what it is like to go through the same cycle of hating her body, feeling miserable about her relationship with food, and having disordered eating habits. Being in a constant emotional purgatory with food and her body left Amber feeling so defeated and worried that she would always live in this vicious cycle. She became convinced that life would always feel this way until she made shifts in her life that allowed her to begin her journey to sustainable weight loss and finally find food freedom. Amber will share the 5 shifts needed to achieve sustainable weight loss in this 5 part series.
This episode is part 1 of this series and features the very first big shift that needs to happen to be able to make this a lifestyle and not just another fad diet that will leave you miserable. A huge part of Amber's coaching is mindset because if we don't get our mindset in check, making real and sustainable change won't happen. The first big shift you need to make is recognizing that diets cause weight gain. This might seem counterintuitive, but let's think about it. While it's true that diets may work in the short term due to calorie restriction, it is not something that you can stick to long term, which leads many to fall back into old habits and end up feeling even worse than they felt before.
The first thing to realize is that creating a sustainable lifestyle is about playing the long game. This won't be a quick fix, but it will be so worth it when you feel confident, love the body you're in, have a healthy relationship with food, don't feel restricted, and actually feel satisfied with the meals you eat on a daily basis. Doesn't that sound amazing? Well, let me tell you, reaching that point can happen for you if you make these 5 shifts and build a lifestyle that is effortless and absolutely sustainable. Tune in each week on Monday for Amber's solo episodes to hear the rest of these 5 shifts needed to keep the weight off and get off the diet train for good.
