Today's guest is a peak performance coach that teaches audiences how to hit emotional balance and be in control of their emotions. Christopher Dedeyan has a beautiful story of overcoming obstacles and will leave you inspired to persevere and achieve anything you desire. After years of struggling in school, Christopher was diagnosed with dyslexia and was faced with many failures at a young age. Because of his perseverance and determination, Christopher learned how to use his unique attributes to his advantage and is now a successful entrepreneur and motivational speaker.
In this conversation with Amber, Christopher emphasizes the importance of getting in touch with your intuition and becoming massively aware of your current state. So many of us are confusing danger and fear because fear is constantly kicking in to keep us safe. It does not realize when we are not actually in a state of danger because we perceive the unknown as danger, which can keep us from amazing and wonderful opportunities. Once you can tap in and understand your true emotion as fear and not actual danger, you can achieve what you may have never thought was possible. As moms, we are constantly taking care of others, but being a martyr is not doing anyone any good. You have heard it before, but often we need a reminder: We can not take the best care of other people if we are not taking the best care of ourselves. We can do that by taking quiet time to reflect inward and be able to access that intuition and learn to achieve emotional balance.
Learning to control our emotions does not mean that we don't allow ourselves to deeply feel negative emotions. Allowing ourselves to feel what we need to feel is incredibly important, but is it also so important to be intentional and in control of those emotions. Christopher explains that we need to give ourselves a timeframe for those emotions and then develop steps to overcome whatever the obstacles may be. If we don't learn to control and understand our emotions, then they will control us, and eventually, we'll lose control. Learning to take that energy and use it for positivity is the key. Tune in for more!

There has been a lot of buzz recently in the medical community about Alzheimer's and the disease's link to insulin resistance. You might have heard that some medical professionals are now referring to Alzheimer's as "type 3 diabetes" due to research findings indicating that people with type 2 diabetes are at a higher risk of Alzheimer's due to its correlation with insulin resistance. Amber recently read a scary statistic stating that two-thirds of Alzheimer's patients are women, and less than 2% of cases are believed to be due to a genetic predisposition. So the questions become: why are women more likely to develop Alzheimer's, and if it is not due to genetics, what can we do to prevent it?
Is now a known fact that insulin plays a huge part in the development of Alzheimer's, so we should be looking at the preventive measures for type 2 diabetes as a way to also prevent Alzheimer's. These lifestyle shifts are the same habits that Amber teaches in her coaching practice as her approach to sustainable weight loss and a healthier lifestyle. These habits include: consuming less processed foods, regular exercise, more protein and fiber, regular sleep, and stress management. Amber also mentions certain tools for checking your blood sugar if you are curious about how certain foods affect your levels.
We know that continued high blood sugar levels lead to inflammation which can damage brain cells, which can lead to neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's. Now that we know this direct link to this terrible disease, why wouldn't we make changes to our lifestyle to ensure we are doing all that we can to avoid it? Amber's goal with this episode and The Wellness Revolution podcast in general, is to arm you with information so that you can be your own advocate for your health.

One of the most powerful things we can do to begin to make significant changes in our lives is to question the stories that we tell ourselves each day. As children, we absorb the ideas, philosophies, and patterns of those around us, and oftentimes we carry them into adulthood without questioning them. One of the most dangerous things we can do is to trust all of our thoughts as facts without checking in, and thinking, "Where is the evidence to actually back that up?" So many of us are carrying stories about our bodies, and about diets and nutrition that are actually damaging and untrue. Amber's guest today is here to shake up these ideas and encourage you to question what you have been telling yourself about nutrition and weight loss, and get curious about how it would look to build a nutrition plan around your unique attributes, interests, and lifestyle.
Mike Millner has been a high-level nutrition coach for almost 10 years, and he has a gift for understanding the psychological and physiological needs of his clients, which has led to thousands of success stories. He believes that cookie-cutter nutrition plans don't work because every person is different. By getting interested in personality psychology, Mike realized that by following generalized nutrition plans, this often means we are fighting an uphill battle because it does not take our personality into account. We hear a lot about weight loss being as simple as "calories in vs. calories out", but there is much more to the picture. Stress and hormones play a huge role in all of this as well, so following a nutrition plan that is best suited for you, is going to be the key to making it a sustainable lifestyle.
In this episode, Mike and Amber discuss the importance of individualized nutrition approaches because the idea of "eat less, move more" does not take the whole picture into consideration. Our metabolism is a stress barometer, not a calorie calculator, so it reacts to the inputs and outputs of our environment and the stressors in our life. Mike emphasizes that we need to approach nutrition and weight loss holistically to look at our individual needs and preferences.

As we are heading into another New Year, this is the perfect time to talk about goal setting. You may be reflecting on the last year and thinking about what you want to achieve in 2023, but what if you have been approaching goal setting all wrong? For Amber, she used to set extreme goals that would eventually fade out, leading to a feeling of failure and frustration. What she has learned is that so often, we aren't setting realistic and sustainable goals. You should know that we are all about "realistic and sustainable" around here, so how do we approach goal setting in a way that sets us up for success and gets us those wins? Amber has 3 tips in this episode to help you transform how you are setting goals so you can actually achieve them.
Amber's first tip is to focus on the process instead of the outcome. Instead of setting a goal of losing X amount of weight, think about what it would take to get there, and work your way backward. Maybe part of that is getting a regular workout routine, which means setting aside time for it, which could mean getting up earlier, which means going to bed earlier. Now your new goal is to go to bed at a certain time, which is specific and sets you up to achieve the bigger picture. When you focus on the habits of a healthy person, weight loss is the byproduct.
The next tip is to go SLOW. For so many of us, we have a knee-jerk reaction to jump into a "quick-fix" diet, but we already know those do not work for long-lasting results. To make lasting, sustainable change, we need to go slowly. What we want to achieve is a lifestyle change that will stick, and that doesn't happen overnight. It happens with intentional incremental changes and mindset shifts.
The third tip is to make sure you are setting SMART goals. This stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely. All goals should have a component of each of these, and Amber walks you through what that looks like. You may be thinking that your goal is weight loss, but If you want to lose weight and keep it off for good, you need to focus on both the mindset and what it will actually take to get to that goal. Tune in to hear these tips and walk into 2023 with goals that will actually stick!

If you are like Amber, you might have tried all the skincare products and treatments that promise even and glowy skin. However, when you keep trying new things that promise everyone, including people with different skin types than you, that they will address your skin needs, it's hard to land on a product that with really work for you.
A scientist, bioengineer, and Leukemia survivor, Dr. Anu Thubagere joins Amber on the podcast today to talk about iuno, the skin protocol she has created that uses the science of proteomics to analyze the user's unique protein patterns and treat your unique skin concerns.
The product is tailored to you and changes based on your lifestyle, including the weather where you are and seasonal changes. Unlike laser treatments or other common skincare trends, this product is highly customized and natural. Since the product is sealed from the air, it doesn't require any preservatives or shelf stabilizers. This use of solely pure ingredients keeps the product clean. Consequently, this product is safe for anyone with sensitive skin.
Dr. Thubagere and her team understand that lifestyle changes can change your body's proteins, which will show up on your skin, so using the same products every day is not viable. The reason iuno works is because it was made specifically for you, and to meet your needs better, the formulation is tweaked every month. As a DNA-based, noninvasive, and natural skincare line, iuno truly goes against the grain.

Cannabis is often thought of as a drug that makes you stoned, but many experts and studies indicate that small doses of THC in the plant can have several health benefits.
In addition to offering a more natural remedy for patients experiencing very debilitating issues, THC can also be used to relax or unwind without the need for alcohol. THC has been used for treating chronic pain, fatigue, and more. Many people experiencing common mental health issues, such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety, find their symptoms improve when they start microdosing. Microdosing THC has even been found to enhance creativity and focus.
Just like wine, marijuana comes in many varieties or strains, so you can select a product that supports your wellness goals best. And to mitigate the psychoactive effects of THC, pick a product that has a higher CBD to THC ratio.
Lately, Amber has been using CURED Nutrition's Serenity gummies as a more natural and healthy way to unwind at the end of a long day rather than having a glass of wine. CURED Nutrition's products are designed to promote balance, reduce stress, and assist your body in coping with daily stressors. The products contain ingredients like CBD, adaptogens, and functional mushrooms.
It is totally understandable if you have reservations about using THC, but Amber wants to provide you with information about its benefits so you can make informed choices for your health. This episode might interest you if you are curious about how THC could make a positive difference in your life.

Today's guest on the podcast, registered herbalist and holistic nutritionist Danielle Ryan Broida, believes we each have a light and something we are called to do in this world, and there is no way to fulfill our callings from a place of depletion. Yet, the most common issue among people right now is coping with stress and pressure from our environment. We are joined by Danielle today to discuss how adaptogenic mushrooms can help us manage stress quickly and naturally as well as improve our longevity and well-being.
The vast majority of women, especially moms and young women, suffer from chronic depletion. Adaptogens are a relatively quick way to help our bodies on a molecular level. With the typical diet today, the news, our jobs, and the toxins in our environment, we are asking a lot of our bodies and it is clear that we have never needed adaptogens more.
When Danielle first discovered mushrooms, there weren't many conversations about mushrooms in society, and her mission has been to get more people to learn about and benefit from mushrooms. If you've struggled to remove bodily stress despite your best efforts and are looking for natural ways to fuel your body and health, this episode is for you. Danielle discusses how to get the most out of adaptogens, how to choose the right adaptogens for our health and longevity, and how to spot reputable products.

Staying consistent with your nutrition is key to meeting and maintaining your health goals, and the best way to do that is to create habits that support the kind of life you want to live. To stay consistent and on track, Amber emphasizes that focusing more on the process than the end result is necessary.
How many times have you found that it's already 1 pm and you haven't eaten yet? It's a situation I'm sure many of us can relate to. We are more likely to make food choices that are not in line with our fitness goals when we don't prepare.
Staying consistent with nutrition requires preparation. Food prep doesn't have to look like spending all of your Sunday making food for the week. Depending on your schedule and circumstances, your health choices will be different from someone else's. In order to achieve your health goals, you need to maintain consistency most of the time and develop food habits that are second nature to you. Taking a couple of minutes every day to prepare your food can help you stay on track and reduce your stress. In this episode, Amber outlines the three steps to finding the lifestyle that serves your health goals best.

In general, women are expected to say yes and to make sure everyone is taken care of. Women, especially those raising a family and working, are prone to burnout because of this. Our guest on today's podcast, Dr. Sasha Shillcut, is an integrative functional registered dietician who teaches women how to overcome burnout and take control of their time and their life by learning to set boundaries with their families, at work, with their children, and more.
Due to the lack of boundaries she used to set in her life, Dr. Sasha has experienced seasons of loneliness, anxiety, and complete burnout. In her newest book, Brave Boundaries, she shares how she recreated her life based on her priorities and went from surviving to thriving. She spent one year saying No to things she didn't want in her life and documented her experience along the way, discovering that she had reclaimed a lot of time and joy as a result.
In this podcast episode, Amber and Dr. Sasha will discuss the expectations in society of what a woman "should" be and do, how to kindly enact boundaries, boundaries every woman needs, and how to deal with setting boundaries in some of the most difficult areas such as with your children or your phone. Whether you feel you take on too many tasks for which you aren't getting paid, or you feel stuck doing things that do not align with your priorities, values, or the way you want to spend your time, this episode is packed with advice and resources that will help you begin to reclaim your time and your life.

It is common for Amber to hear from women she coaches that healthy eating during the holidays causes them a great deal of stress. Due to a vicious cycle of binge-restrict diets, many women think they need to blow their diets and overindulge during the holiday season. However, there is a much better way to approach eating during this season as well as throughout the year.
You can mindfully indulge in a way that does not cross the line of binging, even if you are actively trying to lose weight. To begin with, you should understand that you have the freedom to decide what you eat. Over time, mindful indulgence keeps you consistent because you allow yourself the things you love, even if they are not a regular part of your diet.
Amber promotes not looking at your food as good or bad because when we do this, we tend to think: "I am bad if I eat this food" when we eat something we have deemed "bad." Subsequently, we want these foods even more, resulting in feeling like we need to reset our diet all over again.
In this episode, Amber will share three ways you can still cash in on the holiday goodies you love while working towards your fitness goals because sustainable weight loss isn't dependent on perfection, and the path to health isn't a diet; it's a lifestyle change.
