Most people think, if I just force myself to do the things that I need to do I’ll become the person I want to become just through sheer grit and repetition of those behaviours.
So we knuckle down, grin (or not) and bear it, yet wonder why at the end of the day we either fail in our attempts at change, or worse still, achieve success only to be met with an overwhelmingly empty and sinking sensation of “oh, is that it….?!”
Under these kinds of circumstances it’s easy to see how people lose motivation and inspiration…and who could blame them? After all, if, at the end of the process, you’re still the very same person with the same thoughts and feelings as you were at the very beginning, then what exactly is the point of it all in the first place?
