I am a lifelong learner and always studying something.

Most recently it's been the success of the Scale tier of my EntreMD Business School. Scale is the EBS branch for high earners—those seeing multiple six figures and seven figures in revenue. I started to notice themes and commonalities that give away the secrets to their great success. I'm not one to keep these things to myself, so I have to share with you!

The first conclusion I came to is that these ultra-successful physician entrepreneurs INVEST UP. They see the value in the investment to become that new person who can do these big things. That doesn't mean it's not scary—I hear their gulps!—but they just *know* the value is going to make up for the fear. It's something they know, trust, welcome. Invest up!

These million-dollar entrepreneurs also become comfortable with being uncomfortable. It's not that they don't get uncomfortable—they do! But they get over that fast as they recognize the good that will soon come from it.

Birthdays have a way of making us reflect, don't they?

But on my birthday last week, I found myself looking AHEAD.

I was thinking about what I can be doing now that will get me to where I want to be when I'm 90. It seems so far away, but the things I want for myself take time. I'm talking about things like character, health, and an attitude toward skill development.

I'm going to give you a little pep talk. I'd like to start by saying ... YOU HAVE UNMATCHED VALUE.

Your ideas, your business, your service—it's all valuable and it's exactly what this world needs. Someone (lots of someones, in fact) are looking for someone just like you, at this very moment, selling exactly what you're selling. They want it. They need it. It will make their life better.

YOU will make their life better.

Can you do me a favor and read that all again? I want to at least get started on the No. 1 obstacle doctors like you face on your way to earning $100,000 in revenue.

It's mindset.

You don't believe your own value and your own ability to be a physician entrepreneur. But I do—I believe in you.

Whether you have plans to sell your business or not, you want to build a sellable business.

Why?

Because a business that is easy to sell is a business that is desirable to keep. You win either way.

But how do you up the sellability of your private practice business?

Increase the profit margin.

The first way to do this is to optimize your schedule—take a real look at the calendar and make sure you're filling any gaps with appointments. After all, you've already paid overhead, payroll, fixed expenses, etc. so filling those gaps goes straight to the profit margin.

It's critical you don't stop playing offense; don't stop your marketing efforts and don't stop reviewing referral bases that can get your gaps filled and your schedule optimized.

Have you ever wondered if the cost of conferences is worth it? There's the financial investment, of course, but there's also opportunity cost of being away from your family, being away from work, having to travel, etc. What if I told you how to 10x the ROI so it's more than worth it to attend? 1. Make the decision to get something out of it (don't just wait to see what happens). Doing this has allowed me to trace hundreds of thousands of dollars back to these events.
2. Approach the content with a beginner's mindset. Even masters must be curious and open to learning because there is always something to learn.
