My guest on this week’s episode is the fabulous Allora Cannon Campbell.
Allora is 34, single, childfree, and the oldest of 10 homeschooled kids raised on a horse farm in New York State. By the age of 32 she’d never been kissed, let alone been in a relationship, and in 2023 Allora started talking about her big ‘secret’, as well as her adventures with dating, on TikTok. Eighteen million views later, and an appearance on the Drew Barrymore Show thanks to documenting her life as a self-proclaimed ‘late bloomer’, she is now a spokesperson for those people who have also come to the game of love and sex later in life.
She lives in Western New York, marketing for a biotech company by day, and writing by night.

On this week's minisode, I'm talking about how hard it can be for single women to watch close family members and friends hit all of the 'traditional' milestones that society expects us to tick off our check list.
Inspired by a DM on Instagram, I address the feelings that can come up as a result of watching a sibling or close friend get married or have a baby; as well as talk about why the solution is to take radical responsibility for how we move forward from these difficult moments.

This week, Polly & I are talking about active listening.👂
Do you really listen when you’re having a conversation, or are you actually thinking about what your response is going to be? We’re all guilty of it…and we could all improve our active listening skills.
Lucy & I discuss various aspects of listening, including how annoying it is when people interrupt (and how we both have a tendency to do exactly that!), plus that awful feeling when you’re talking to someone but they’re looking over your shoulder!
Like so many things, awareness is key; so the next time you’re having a conversation with someone, ask yourself whether you’re truly listening to them, or if your mind is elsewhere.
When it comes down to it, every single one of us needs and deserves to be heard fully.
We hope you’ll find something useful in here!
Love,
Polly & Lucy x

On this week's minisode, I'm talking about why fancying potential partners is a non-negotiable for me when it comes to romantic relationships, despite those people who encourage single women to "give him a chance".
Not to put too fine a point on it, but if I don't actually want to shag someone, then no amount of telling me I'm "too fussy" or that my "standards are too high" is going to convince me to date them.

On this week's Thursday Thoughts, Polly & I are talking about intuition, that gut feeling or inner knowing that helps us make decisions without conscious reasoning.
We discuss how our ego and fear of being wrong can lead us to ignore our intuition.
We also dive into how intuition involves quieting the mind and getting into the body, and some of the practices that can help you recognise patterns in your intuitive responses.
We hope you'll find something of interest in this conversation!

On this week's Thursday Thoughts, Polly and I are talking about getting the damn thing done!
September is a great time of year to check in with ourselves about where we are with our goals. There's still a significant amount of the year to go, but not so much that it feels overwhelming.
So...what are those things you keep putting off, and how can you just get the damn thing done?!
Polly and I discuss how to start taking action, including getting accountability, starting very, very small, and getting the hell out of our own way.
We also talk about how we have to cultivate motivation by taking action, rather than waiting for the motivation to arrive before we take the action.
We hope you'll find something helpful or interesting in here!

Let’s be real — being single and child-free? It’s pretty damn awesome. Don’t believe me? Stick around. I promise you, by listening to this podcast, you’re going to start seeing your solo life in a…
I’m Lucy Meggeson, and I’m here to help you stop seeing singlehood as a consolation prize and start embracing it as the incredible opportunity that it is. Because the truth? Being single isn’t second best. It’s not a waiting room. And it sure as hell isn’t a life of lack. In fact, when you lean into it, it can be just as fulfilling—if not more so—than being coupled up with kids.
And besides, no matter what our relationship status, what we all really want is to feel good in the here and now. So instead of focusing on what’s ‘missing,’ let’s focus on what’s possible. The freedom. The adventure. The extra time and headspace to create a life that’s truly our own.
Because here’s the thing: you are so much more powerful than you realise. Your thoughts shape your reality. And when you shift your mindset, you shift your life. My mission isn’t just to help you feel better about being single—it’s to help you recognise your own agency. To help you see that you are the creator of your own experience. And that you, and you alone, get to decide what your life looks like.
So join me here every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and let’s build lives that feel joyful, meaningful, and wildly fulfilling — on our own terms.
Let’s Thrive Solo…together.
