She’s a queen of the drag world, the reigning champion of RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs The World, and one of the most exciting rising stars in entertainment
Tia Kofi’s career in drag started a little over 10 years ago with their now infamous drag name based partly on former Secretary-General of the UN, Kofi Annan. The name is fitting – as one of the few non-white drag stars, Tia has continually used her platform to raise awareness for human rights causes, including racial discrimination and LGBTQ+ rights.
Since her Drag Race win in 2024, Tia has become one of the BBC’s foremost reporters for Eurovision (including hosting the Turquoise Carpet in 2024) and hosts her own podcast, The Final FronTia, where she explores pop culture past and present.
On this episode of The Pieces, Bimini and Tia talk about the concept of masking for neuro-divergent people, their experiences with bullying and racism, and how to find joy in the public eye.
They also share stories of meeting Ariana Grande and making time for self-care.
