Prediabetes is often described as a warning sign. Blood glucose levels are higher than normal, but not yet high enough for a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. In most medical discussions, the focus is on preventing diabetes or reducing risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

But there is another way to think about prediabetes.

Instead of simply managing it, the goal can be to restore normal glucose regulation. In other words, achieving prediabetes remission. That's the topic we're revisiting in this episode.
