If you've been following along on Insta, then you already know I'm in the middle of a thirty-day practice where I go out every single day and do something to intentionally get rejected. And while I've experienced a surprising amount of "yeses" to my requests, I've also experienced plenty of "nos"...and a few "no, buts" that ended up being even cooler than my original request.

Rejection is not easy. A few of those "nos" have really stung. But here I am, still doing it…and if you're wondering why, here it is:

I'm not going to ask you to do something I wouldn't do. So if I'm going to teach you how to be the most confident bitch in the room, then I have to show you what it takes to actually be confident—and for this month, that looks like putting myself in a position to get rejected.

Even when it really, really f*cking hurts.

If you're doing "the work" in order to get a man…you're missing the point.

I'm not saying you can't do manifestation work to manifest a partner—of course you can. I'm talking about when you're doing the internal work to reconnect to yourself in order to attract a man.

When women do the work to get a man, it usually comes from a place of deep self-loathing and a sense of incompleteness…and they think a relationship will provide them with a sense of fulfillment they can't achieve on their own.

Spoiler alert: it will not.

We are designed to attach to the people we're in a relationship with. Our bodies flood with all kinds of "love drug" chemicals that cause us to pay attention to all the ways we're similar, not all the ways we're different…until the chemicals fade away, and we suddenly start noticing all the little things that annoy us or set us apart.

What do you think men find alluring in a woman?

Why do we insist on seeking answers from sources outside ourselves?

I'm not exempt, either. When I got my brand-new car and got into my brand-new house—things I'd been pining over for such a long time—I had an incredibly sobering, fucking shattering moment of ego death where I realized, "Michelle, you've lost yourself in the pursuit of all of those things. Now what?"

And that's not to say I was wrong for wanting or pursuing those things. But I want all of those things and a connection to myself.

All that to say, I fucking know how important that connection to self is…which is why I am so fucking excited to tell you all about an upcoming opportunity all about feminine embodiment, coming back to yourself, and connecting to your body.
