Have you ever noticed that in every romance/comedy movie the guy sweeps in to rescue the girl and they fall madly in love? That might be romantic in a fairy tale but in modern times, most women don’t want to fall into that ‘victim’ trap, needing to be rescued.
When women don’t take full control of their lives and decisions – and find themselves needing to be rescued – they’re giving their power away to a guy. This might be as simple as choosing where to eat or as serious as moving across country. Relationships are meant to be partnerships, where both people have the capability of making decisions about where to eat or where to live and work.
Let’s discuss the DEEPER reasons why women give their power away as well as some surprising ways this happens.

Don’t you agree that playing dating games is exhausting? It’s like a massive game of real life “if you do this, then that will happen.” I’ve also heard it compared to playing a game of chess: one person makes a move, then the other, all while trying to outsmart their opponent to ultimately claim the win.
But that doesn’t sound very romantic, does it? And what is the ultimate victory in dating games? Forcing someone into a relationship they don’t want? Why would you invite that type of drama into your life? Let’s forgo the games and learn to be authentic with the people we date. Then there’s no guesswork involved and you can BOTH decide if you want to see more of each other.
Let’s discuss the DEEPER reasons couples play dating games and why it’s detrimental to starting a real relationship.

If you’ve been through a break up, you can probably guess what these 3 reasons are before we even start. But it’s not enough to just hear the phrases men use to break up…we need to dive much deeper into the feelings and deflections involved. Otherwise you’ll be left wondering if he was feeding you a line of BS or if there is something wrong with you (there’s not, trust me).
Acknowledging the deeper feelings involved in a break up also helps you understand his perspective. While you may not agree with his reasoning, he is allowed to have these feelings, just as you are allowed to not agree.
This is where things can get sticky if you believe someone has to be “right” and the other person is “wrong” in a break up. You each will have different perspectives of how the relationship was and why it should or should not end. No matter how you feel, you’re allowed to feel that way.
Let’s discuss the DEEPER feelings involved in breaking up and how to accept this unpleasant outcome.

What’s your definition of ‘commitment’? It will be different for everyone and there’s no wrong or right answer. Some women want a monogamous relationship that offers companionship and connection while others want to get remarried. There are lots of different levels in between these two as well and only YOU can determine what’s right for you.
But many of my clients find it difficult to talk about these desires – or the word commitment in general – with men they meet, often because men are a little slow to join the personal development bandwagon. In general, most men are raised to ignore their feelings or with the belief that only women talk about feelings. That’s not to say your man can’t come around and learn to communicate more deeply; it’s just a process.
Let’s discuss the DEEPER reasons men are hesitant to talk about commitment and why they might need help figuring out what they really want out of life.
