Ep 250: In the catch up segment, Allison and Ceara share about their weeks at home. Allison had two pregnancy appointments, finished furnishing her apartment, is making progress on her baby registry / checklist, and is enjoying fall activities like baking cookies. Ceara just returned from a trip to 30A in Florida with her in-laws. She got to test out her new snorkel gear and had a memorable private sunrise yoga session.
In the WWYBD part of the episode, we answer questions about lifestyle choices that go against social norms, particularly regarding relationships, engagements, marriage, babies, and life stages. We also touch work-place boundaries, such as keeping drinking separate.
WWYBD (what would your bestie do) is where we answer listener-submitted questions. You can submit questions any time via our website, and then we pull questions to fit a specific theme.

Ep 249: In this episode, Allison and Ceara reflect on their own long-term relationships and how they’ve been able to keep the spark alive through all of life’s peaks and valleys. We give our opinions on why we think distance happens in relationships, how to identify if a spark is worth rekindling, or if it’s time to go separate ways. We also share a ton of tangible tips to keep your relationship joy filled, love filled, exciting and inspiring.
In this catch up segment, Ceara shares about her trip to LA for a new freelance client which was off to a chaotic start but turned out to make a good story. Then she got to visit friends who live in LA and they went on a haunted hayrack ride. Allison gives a breakdown of her week, which entailed her usual routine activities, but there were also some unexpected exciting events such as getting her Dutch visa, finishing a project for her secondhand store, and her friend’s baby being born.

Ep 248: In this episode, Allison and Ceara discuss the challenges of navigating phone boundaries, social media addiction, AI content creators, the unrealistic expectations of communication in a digital age, and the anxiety caused by being “watched” in public spaces. The conversation emphasizes the importance of finding joy in everyday life and introduces the concept of a dopamine menu, “hanging up the phone” and app blockers to help listeners engage in more fulfilling activities. We conclude with reminders to be intentional about digital consumption and to prioritize self-care.
In this catch up segment, Ceara shares an exciting update about landing a new freelance client and she will be producing a photoshoot with them next week. She is also preparing for an annual trip to Florida with her husband’s family. Allison shares pregnancy updates and the highlights of her 31st birthday celebrations such as pilates, a cacao ceremony, going to a movie, visiting a herbal shop, journaling, and hanging with Clay.
We both give curriculum updates as well. Ceara is crushing it with home-ec as she is cooking a lot and entered a chili into a cookoff with her friends. She’s also making progress on her reading list. Allison’s primary focus has been in planning her home-birth, learning about herbs, acupressure and making flower bouquets.

Ep 246: In this episode, Allison and Ceara reflect on the changing season, as fall invites in the energy of release. We encourage listeners to embrace the natural ebb and flow of life, as the only thing forever constant, is change.
We discuss the importance of releasing old habits, emotions, identities, lifestyle choices and relationships that are no longer in alignment. We include personal examples, practical tips for letting go, and reflections on how to navigate the emotional challenges that come with change.
In this catch up segment, Ceara shares about a visit to her grandparents on the East coast. The highlight was going to a murder mystery play and spending quality time with them. Allison is making progress on her birth plan by watching documentaries, listening to birth story podcast episodes and heavily researching how to prepare.

Ep 245: In the catch up segment, Allison and Ceara share the highlights of their week for the first 20 minutes of the episode. Ceara went to Colombia for a Mizzou football game and is excited about getting her front porch redone. Allison had a lot of success finding items for her fall wardrobe at a vintage clothing market. We both share progress updates of our "curriculum" studies (tune into last week’s episode). Then we discuss the societal pressure of quick communication expectations due to the accessibility our phones create.
In the WWYBD part of the episode, we talk about the complexities of wedding planning in a way that avoids drama, the opportunity of going back to pursue higher education when you’re age 30+, and explore tips for creating a cozy home environment, emphasizing the impact of aesthetics, intention, feng shui and personal touches.

Ep 244: In this episode, Allison and Ceara talk about a trend on social media that’s all about creating your “personal curriculum” to follow your curiosity, tap into your inner child and romanticize learning after graduation. Intellectual wellness is one of the 8 dimensions of wellness (that we’ve talked about here many times) so this is a great way to tune into that energy! We share free resources, suggest various topics to study, ways to implement this idea, our current fall curriculums, and tips to stay accountable.
Developing your own class schedule should be fun and attainable because as the teacher, you can take this any direction that inspires or enriches you whether that’s hobbies, art, music, financials, literature, wellness, business, fitness, history or anything in-between.
In this catch up segment, we talk “low-spend September” and supporting small businesses. We share fun things to do in September like going to the apple orchard, a fitness challenge, and hosting tea parties with friends.

Ep 243: Allison and Ceara dedicate this entire update to catching listeners up on all the fun and exciting activities that happened in their lives over the last two weeks. Our summers have been incredible and this last week really topped off a wonderful few months.
Ceara recently got back from a NYC trip with her sister McKenna. They spontaneously attended the U.S. Open and tried the famous Honey Deuce drink. They also went to Matilda Djerf’s pop up event at the Djerf Avenue Townhouse and got to meet the Scandi-style queen herself. Ceara shares about a controversial video she made on her way to NYC that’s getting a lot of traction about airport theory so we discuss the different types of travelers.
Allison and Clay went on a road-trip through Germany, Austria and Switzerland to celebrate Clay’s 30th birthday. All credit to Clay for choosing the destinations. A highlight was Innsbruck, Austria and getting to take Peaches up the mountain in the gondola. After she got back to her apartment in The Netherlands, she started getting into the virgo season energy of organizing and decluttering. She attended a yoga retreat in Amsterdam and got to connect with fellow pregnant and new moms in attendance. Big progress was made in their visa paperwork as she finally received her BSN (Dutch social security number), a Dutch bank account and a Dutch iPhone.

Ep 241: In the catch up segment, Allison and Ceara share about their latest travels. Ceara had a fun friend-filled week. She went to Chicago for a wedding, shot her friend’s engagement photos, and did a 4 mile walk with a friend. Next week, Ceara and her sister are going to New York for two fun events so she’s looking forward to that.
Allison was in Omaha to check on her shop, see family, and get some paperwork done. Her highlight of the week was doing a professional maternity shoot at a studio. After she got back home to The Netherlands, she had a few lazy, restful days recovering from the long journey and jet lag.
In the WWYBD part of the episode, we answer questions about how to get over a breakup when you’ve been together for a long time and have children together, how to financially balance your own big life moments while supporting your friends' events as well, and some advice on how to get started solo traveling.
