She hosts 3 podcasts Common Sense Pregnancy (she had me as a guest too, check out ep #106), CARE Action!, and Activists on the Line! Today we talk about her experiences in the labor and delivery room and how that led to her foreign assistance lobbying. We also cover how care during pregnancy is affected when we come from a place of fear instead of wellness.

About Jeanne:
Jeanne Faulkner is a writer, podcaster, registered nurse, speaker, mother and maternal health advocate. After almost 20 years work as a labor and delivery nurse, Jeanne branched into writing for magazines, newspapers and websites about topics ranging from asthma to Zen meditation with a heavy focus on women’s health, politics, parenting and feminism. She’s the author of two books, The Complete Illustrated Birthing Companion and Common Sense Pregnancy, which inspired her podcast, Common Sense Pregnancy and Parenting. She also writes and hosts two podcasts for CARE, the global humanitarian organization and she’s the co-founder of Civics for Cynics, workshops that raise advocates from the ground up.
