The clock is ticking in Florida after the state Supreme Court voted to pause the execution of former police officer, James Aren Duckett. Duckett was convicted of raping and murdering an 11-year-girl back in 1987. After nearly 40 years on death row, Duckett’s attorneys say the new testing could exonerate the client and the court gave prosecutors until 5 pm today to give a status update on results from the new DNA testing.
