Kim Lewis is the CEO and co-founder of CurlMix, the award-winning hair care brand with a really smart tag line: master your curls in 21 days.

Kim's landed SO much press—her brand has been featured everywhere from Forbes and Entrepreneur Mag to Refinery 21 and Vanity Fair, and a lot of this she actually managed to secure without the help of a publicist (she tells us how in the interview!). The business has hit over eight figures in revenue, and raised $4.5M+ in equity crowdfunding from their community.

It wasn’t always this smash-success, though, CurlMix is actually Kim’s third swing at entrepreneurship.

She sold her car to start the business while also working her full time corporate job—and then came her biggest opportunity: Kristyn and her business landed a starring role the new Roku show, Side Hustlers, created by Reese Witherspoon's production Hello Sunshine.

 Kristyn has been building the biz while working her fulltime job for the last three years, and she actually quit her job the day after we recorded this episode. We talk a lot about what it really takes to go 'all-in' on your business idea: do you need to move to a lower tax state? How much money do you need to have in the bank to quit your job? Madison Stefanis was 19 when she started selling refurbished vintage film cameras to Gen Z. She realized she was onto a booming market, but had some problems sourcing the vintage cameras—there are only so many available in the world for sale, right? Madi decided to meet the demand by creating her own film camera and market it to a nostalgic millennial and Gen Z customer. And, it's been a hit. They're crushing it on TikTok and Instagram, and in 18 months sold 40,000 units and did AU$3.6M in revenue.
