In this episode, we sit down with resonant and multifaceted sound healer, Lani Levi of Jerusalem to explore the intersection of sound healing and Yoga Nidra.  This episode dives into how sound healing can help us navigate through uncertain times by facilitating deeper self-exploration and emotional release. Lani shares her personal path and the unique ways in which she combines sound healing with other modalities to create a space of rest, digest, and profound release.

The discussion also explores intriguing questions around sound and its resonant power on the nervous system, and how different frequencies can regulate and reset our bodies. We explore the connection between sound healing and Yoga Nidra, discussing brain wave states and how sound can penetrate deeply to promote restful states of the unconscious mind.

Lani also treats us to a powerful inner sound healing somatic exercise that integrates sound and body awareness, as a tool to manage anxiety and tension. You are invited to join this journey of inner peace, gaining insights into how sound can become a powerful ally in the quest for self-understanding and holistic well-being.

  • 70. Av Yoga Nidra for Hearing Deeply: Healing Sound Visualization & Emotional Attunement (47 mins)

NA'ALEH YOGA: Nidra Journeys for Deep Rest+

Close Your Eyes and Stay Awake...

This episode is part of the Jewish Calendar Series and is created for the month of Av.  This month focuses on rectifying the sense of hearing and invites you to descend into the healing darkness where you can listen deeply to connect with the resonance of your soul.

Through practicing Yoga Nidra, you take a pause from all the sensory input channels except for sound so you can focus on the space within. This practice of Yoga Nidra guides you in the exploration of sound as you journey through the layers of consciousness from the body, breath, and mind to your deeper understanding and soul consciousness. Instead of a traditional verbal visualization, this practice contains a non-verbal sound visualization sequence to support deepest listening beyond that which words can express, while you are held in a state of relaxation.

Please note that this practice may bring out unexpected emotions or memories. This is completely normal, and you are encouraged to welcome all that shows up with curiosity and compassionate witnessing. If this is not the right time for you to elicit emotions, then a milder practice may be better suited for the time being.

Prepare for a transformative experience as you receive the gift of rest in the stillness of your soul. Allow your body and mind to relax deeply as you sail through sounds and silence and hear your soul's whispers.

    Episode Summary:

As the vessel that receives all divine flow, Malkhut teaches the transformative power of receptivity, rest, and embodied presence.

Through this guided Yoga Nidra practice, you’ll explore how grounding into your physical body connects you to your personal and cosmic sovereignty and abundance. Let this be your Shabbat of the soul, where there’s nothing left to strive for, only the spaciousness to receive.

NA'ALEH YOGA: Nidra Journeys for Deep Rest+

Close Your Eyes and Stay Awake...

This yoga nidra explores the Kabbalistic emanation of Yesod, a spiritual bridge connecting the seen and unseen. Yesod serves as a meeting place where the energies of higher sefirot (emanations) of lovingkindness, inner strength, balance, endurance, and gratitude converge from abstract origins into physical form. This practice invites you to align your thoughts, feelings, and actions, allowing you to trust in the unseen and create from a place of clarity and connection.

As you delve into this meditative practice, you are encouraged to let go of efforts and agendas, thereby weaving your experiences into a state of wholeness. By entering the fluid state between sleep and wakefulness, cognitive restraints ease and deeper awareness unfolds, providing a fertile ground for healing and creativity.  By fostering a deep sense of grounding and presence through progressive relaxation, breath awareness, body scanning, and vivid visualization, this Jewish-rooted Yoga Nidra practice serves to cultivate your inner strength and potential.
