In this episode of Omaha Mom Talks, I sit down with Karen Corral de Pesek - an immigrant to the U.S., mom of three, and a bilingual professional with a background in public accounting and nonprofit leadership. As the Chief Financial Officer of Pesek Law, Karen is a passionate advocate for debt-free education, mentoring young people as they navigate the American educational system. She holds degrees from Wayne State College and Central Community College and serves on various nonprofit boards, including the Metropolitan Community College Foundation and the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum.

Karen’s journey from immigrant to education advocate is nothing short of inspiring. She shares her powerful story of arriving in the U.S. without knowing English, navigating college as a first-generation student, and transitioning from corporate accounting to entrepreneurship and motherhood - all at once. Karen opens up about the challenges of balancing cultural traditions while raising bilingual kids and her passion for giving back through initiatives like the True Potential Scholarship and a community-based free legal clinic.
