The Waiting Room on Dublin Talks
Every week on Dublin Talks we have your medical questions answered in The Waiting Room.
Dr Sharon Delaney is on hand to give expert advice and tips on any issues you may have.
Here's this week's topics:
I’m a parent of two young boys. In the news last week, there was talk about the dodgy batch of hand sanitisers in school, During the discussion, it was mentioned that ingredients in hand sanitisers can be harmful if ingested. Obviously nobody actually eats hand sanitisers, but I insist on my kids in using hand gel before they eat if we’re out or if they’re in school. Is there danger that if my kids use hand gel, then pick up their apple or sandwich that it might be eaten and be harmful. Maybe I’m being really paranoid and over cautious, but maybe your doctor can help.
I have osteoarthritis in my knee and am wondering do supplements like turmeric tabs actually work? What would be the best supplement to take? Jacqueline
Can you ask Doctor Sharon about my issue. I’m 42 and for the past 6 months I’ve been waking up a lot during the night to wee. Sometimes it happens 3 times a night and wrecks my sleep pattern. I don’t over-drink and never drink before bed. Could there be a problem here?
