Lauren battled disordered eating for over half her life. If fact, she never truly had a period until she was 29 years old and found herself ready to start a family. Genna is a newly wed living in Jersey City, NJ with her new husband, James. Genna worked in the health and wellness industry in corporate sales and as a cycling instructor for Equinox for 6 years. She is now a Sales Executive in Finance Technology. After 2 years of wanting to go "all in" she finally pulled the trigger and began working with Lindsay in October. Kristy Baumann is a Registered Dietitian, marathon runner, wife, and mom to 6-month old and 3-year old.

As a new runner, she thought she was eating healthy to support her training. In reality, she was eating too 'clean' and unknowingly was restricting calories, cutting out fat and ignoring hunger signs. Food was constantly on her mind and she had a big sweet tooth. These were all signs of underfueling that resulted in recurring injuries and a poor relationship with food. It wasn't until she began to change her mindset around food, understand the science of nutrition and how the body works that she was able to learn to fuel properly, feel more energized and improve her running.

Elizabeth is a social studies teacher in the Dallas area. Elizabeth unknowingly struggled with HA for many years, possibly as long as a decade by eating a super restrictive diet. Fueled by the desire to eat as "clean" as possible, she was inadvertently causing more harm to her body and relationship with food. Elizabeth had to learn to surrender to actually trusting herself and her body, and is enjoying a far more beneficial connection with her body and food - especially bread!

Dr. Nicola Sykes (formerly Rinaldi) has a PhD in biology from MIT. Since experiencing hypothalamic amenorrhea (missing periods) herself, Dr. Sykes has been on a mission to spread awareness of the condition and how to recover. In 2016 she published the book "No Period. Now What?", updated March of 2019 to be more Health At Every Size aligned. This book is a comprehensive resource that includes much of the medical and scientific research that underlies our current understanding of the triggers for amenorrhea, what steps to take for recovery, and treatments to use for recovery and pregnancy as needed. Dr. Sykes now also works with clients on period recovery and getting pregnant.

Shelby is a 34-year old IT professional living in the Washington, DC metro area with her husband, dog, and two cats. She developed disordered eating and exercise habits in her mid-20’s and never got a natural period after coming off of birth control to start a family in 2017. In 2018 she was diagnosed with another major infertility condition, and combined with other traumatic life events, she quickly spiraled into a full blown eating disorder and exercise addiction in her early 30’s. After years of unsuccessfully battling her eating disorder, she decided to take one last leap of faith and joined the Food Freedom Fertility Society in January 2021. She immediately found the support she needed in the group and recovered her period in a little over 2 months! She is now expecting a baby girl via a gestational surrogate in May 2022 and is so happy to enter into motherhood with a regular cycle and a new lease on life!

Emily is a former professional ballerina from Dallas, Texas, who unknowingly had HA for almost two decades. Her lifestyle as a high intensity athlete left her underweight and overworked, but in her industry, that was considered normal. After retiring from her career as a ballet dancer, Emily began to see that her missing period and relationship with her body and food was not normal at all. In Episode 1 of the Food Freedom Fertility Podcast, I want to share my own personal recovery story from disordered eating and Hypothalamic Amenorrhea (HA).
