Before becoming the COO at Pietra, Tala Akhavan was an executive at Uber for five years, coinciding with some of the app's most transformative years. As a first time mother, she struggled to balance work and motherhood, so she made the decision to extend her maternity leave and instead focus on being the mom she always dreamed of. She utilized this down time to search for a fulfilling career that would allow her to tend to both motherhood and entrepreneurship, and ultimately landed her current role at Pietra. Pietra continues to trailblaze and power the creator economy. As Pietra's COO, she's been spearheading the initiatives that make it possible for anyone to launch the brand of their dreams, and she's finally found her true passion which is democratizing access to female entrepreneurship. Her mission is to lower the barrier to entry for all creators alike. Welcome to WorkParty, Tala!
