Alex Shabo created The Hybrid Letter to bring us content in another form, the ability to read about the top athletes and different experts in the hybrid world through a newsletter.

During this episode we talk about where the idea came from, her love for this growing sport and the want to learn more and share that knowledge with everyone. Alex has competed in 22 Hyrox races, mainly in America and gives us an insight into her journey, what she has learnt along the way and what's changed since working with her coach Dylan Scott.

Marion is a Personal Trainer and specialises in pre and postnatal training. She is a mum of two and wants to inspire and encourage other mums to train safely before, during and post pregnancy when able to do so.

We met Kat in the start tunnel of Hyrox Melbourne, full of enthusiasm she has thrown herself into the world of Hyrox and is absolutely killing it!

After 10 races with 8 first place finishes, one second place finish and a 9th place finish at World Championships in Nice in her age group, Kat told us how she wanted to inspire more everyday and older athletes to compete in Hyrox.

It was an absolute honour to have Crossfit royalty on the podcast this week as we chatted to James following the huge weekend he had at Hyrox Melbourne.

The hype was real around this mixed doubles team with James and Tia Toomey taking on Hyrox together in Australia - the buzz was epic and the race was even better to watch (that was if you could get past the crowds to see the head to head battle between the top mixed doubles teams).

We loved finding out how James felt competing over that weekend, his journey into Hyrox and what the future looks like as he and Tia decide to double down on their running and go all out for the win in Chicago in June. Will they take the crown in the Hyrox World Champs?

What a way to kick off 2025!

We promised you we'd catch up with Jo last time we spoke to her as she was about to head off for her first major, so here you go, round 2 with Joanna Wietrzyk and what an incredible episode it is!

Since we last spoke to Jo she has competed in 2 Majors, coming 3rd in Amsterdam (her E15 Debut) securing her World Champs slot and then winning in Hong Kong, showing that she really does belong at the top of the sport and is for sure the rising star in Hyrox.

In this episode Jo shares with us how it felt to travel across the world for her first E15 race, all the feelings racing against the top girls, what it took to secure the win in Hong Kong and her plans for the rest of the season.

We also chat about Hyrox Melbourne , racing mixed doubles against Tia Clair-Toomey and James Newbury and what it felt like to be in the mix with such awesome athletes. A very inspiring, uplifting episode with 'the young girl from Melbourne' who is making a name for herself on the world stage.

We met Chris at Hyrox Melbourne and we were blown away by his race performance over the weekend and just what a top guy he is!

The first team to qualify for the Elite 15 Doubles with his teammate Tom Rodgers, we chat to Chris about how he training went in the lead up to the race, we have a race recap and find out what his plans are for future racing and training as we head to Chicago for World Champs in June 2025.

We also talk about two other races Chris did last weekend in Melbourne, the mixed doubles with our good friend Jane from Erg Army (check out episode 4) where they raced Crossfit royalty when Tia Toomey and James Newbury stepped on the start line.

Then to conclude the weekend, Chris was part of the male relay team that set an APAC record! He was on fire!

This episode is full of incredible training advice and racing tips as well as a low down on the commitment it takes to race at this level.

Gabriella or 'Get Fit Gabby' as she is better known on instagram has been an inspirational athlete to both of us since we started following her well over a year ago.

Gabby is an incredible runner with times for the 5k right up to the marathon distance that most of us could only dream of, but its the way she has taken to Hyrox that has impressed us the most. She works hard, she takes her weaknesses and turns them into strengths and she encourages others to do the same.

Gabby is a true example of hard work and consistency paying off, she does the simple things right and she is getting stronger and stronger. We are sure the Elite 15 is in sight for this talented athlete in the not too distant future!

Naomi is an inspirational coach and personal trainer, for anybody who has been to a Barry's fitness class, you must wonder like we did - how do the trainers do it? The classes are crazy and take a conductor to keep everyone in time on the treadmills and strength training on the floor.
