Bobby and I are exploring how we can adjust and develop ourselves to adapt to and keep pace with the constantly changing world we inhabit. As evident from the episode title, we will be contemplating the factors that impede change. We will also delve into the validity of the "21 days to make or break a habit" notion and consider the psychosocial implications of our involvements and how community and connection plays an crucial role.

SLEEEEEEEEEEP, such an elusive little beast... I recorded a podcast on becoming a champion sleeper (episode 502) when I returned from my New Year's break in January.
As someone who has grappled intensely most of my life with sleep and suffered at times somewhat debilitating bouts of insomnia, I shared some of the things that can help (if we actually get serious and do them, spoiler alert: we usually don't, despite the shitty repercussions). So I pledged to implement these strategies strictly since recording this and this week I sat down and reviewed my last 3 months of sleep data compared with the previous 3. In this episode I'm sharing my experience and my findings along with a where to from here.
If you struggle with sleep too, I'd love you to listen and get involved in the conversation!

Mark LeBusque is back and today we've swapped seats, so to speak. The last couple of chats, Mark donned his coaching hat and rummaged around through that mind of mine, leaving the practice door wide open for you all to come along for the ride.
Well, this week I'm returning the favour as we answer a listener question that was sent in for Mark around his growth around emotional intelligence, change and navigating vulnerability as a man. Real, raw and vulnerable, this is my favourite chat with Mark so far. It's impossible not to feel grateful for people like Mark who I know not only helps others navigate their bullshit, but is ready and willing to bare it all and be authentic about his own journey along the way.
Enjoy!

Dr. Mike Rucker is an organizational psychologist who specializes in the science of fun. He is a founding member of the International Positive Psychology Association, and his research has been published in peer-reviewed academic journals.
Today, we're delving into an appropriately entertaining discussion about none other than... FUN.
Dr. Rucker recently authored a book titled "The Fun Habit," in which he explores the science behind the joyful experience we call "fun," which often falls by the wayside as we grow older. Our preoccupation with "adulting," comparing ourselves to others' carefully curated lives, and continuously moving the goalposts before celebrating our accomplishments has left us starved for fun and in need of a reassessment.
What if our definition of success was based on how much fun we had during the journey?
To begin with, I hope you enjoy listening to this engaging conversation!

Lisa Hardeman is one hell of a woman. Introduced to be by Mark Thomas of The Code 9 Foundation. Lisa is a Commander with Victoria Police and a pioneer and leader in women's football, as in a significant leader.
Lisa has lived and succeeded in her professional and sporting lives, which were traditionally male dominated industries. In the process Lisa has been able to influence and cause significant positive change.
Some of Lisa's achievements:
- Victoria Police Sporting Hall of Fame in 2017
- Australian Police Medal in 2018
- Victorian Honour Role of Women in 2019
- AFL - Australian Football League Life Member in 2023 (one of only four women to do so)
- A swag of football premierships and accolades (yeh to many to mention!!).
This is a really cool chat that we recorded for The Code 9 Foundation, and much respect to Commander Hardeman for all that she has achieved in both her sporting and professional life.

Is being skeptical really a negative trait? Bobby and I talk endlessly about mindset, beliefs, perceptions and things that influence our behaviour and thus, our lives. This week we're looking at the role of skepticism and the benefits (especially in today's world of ever-present information) of having the correct dose of skepticism around anything we're learning or taking on board.
It goes without saying, you should listen to our opinions and discussion on this topic with your own level of healthy skepticism :)

In a world where bigger, better, faster and more seems to be the focus, it's not all too often we are encouraged to sit back just be happy about what's great right now. Well this episode is about me sitting back and doing just that... asking myself (and encouraging you to) "What's outstanding in my life right now?"
The truth is, you might just find so much more than you realise. It's human nature to take shit for granted and believe the influx of marketing and perceived social proof that we (me, you, everyone) aren't 'enough'.
We should all have a gratitude practice of some sort, whether you want to call it that or simply be intentional about the reality that there's a LOT of outstanding things going on for you right now... Like the roof over your head, the air in your lungs and the love in your life.

Do you ever consider the frequency of your food? I don't mean how often you consume food, rather the vibrational frequency of the food you're consuming. It might seem like a weird concept at first, but as we dive into the conversation with Serena Poon, you might just find (as I did) that it's a valid consideration given how much we know nature and our environment impacts our wellbeing.
Serena is a Celebrity Chef, Reiki Master and a Certified Nutritionist who has explored what lay at the intersection of these things. Her own story through her two parents' cancer battles and Serena's own lengthy and life-threatening brush with MRSA gave her plenty of opportunity to explore food and healing frequencies on the body.
This is a unique chat on a well-covered topic that I can safely say may just have you thinking about food from a whole new perspective. Enjoy!

Time sure flies when I'm chatting with Jem Fuller. Today we're curious about why that is... though Jem goes all Brian Cox on me for a moment and dives into a deep exploration of the fourth dimension, I was simply hanging by a cognitive thread at times.
We talk about how time is elastic and tends to stretch and contract in different circumstances and how it becomes seemingly obsolete when we find ourselves in flow state, doing something we love.
I hope you love the conversation. Although if you do, it might just be over in a heartbeat!!

Get ready for me to run down some philosophical rabbit holes with Julian Baggini. I mean what else would I do when blessed with such an esteemed andeste prolific writer, philosopher and expert in personal identity?
Given Julian's PhD research in personal identity, we're diving deep into what makes us who we are and how we relate to our identity. We unpack thinking and how to think critically (ie: realise that everything we 'know' has the capacity to be rubbish). Yet again, I couldn't help but open up the free will can of worms and get Julian's perspective. Oh, and by the way Julian, how do we decipher whether research is actually reliable or just well-dressed bullshit?
This was an interesting and fun topic!
