In 2023, there is more information, awareness, and understanding about neurodivergence, resulting in more diagnoses. However, this also brings misinformation, confusion, curiosity, and both good and bad advice. As with most things in life, navigating and processing this can be overwhelming for those trying to understand their own or their loved ones' circumstances.
This week, Bobby and I will share our thoughts, questions, observations, and personal experiences on this topic, including the intricacies of an individual's diagnosis and their relationship with their label. We will explore the idea that there may not be a single answer that works for everyone, but rather multiple answers and dynamics that can simultaneously be helpful and unhelpful.

How do you feel about your relationship with your body? It's important to recognize that we are in constant communication with our bodies, even if we're not always aware of it. What is your body saying to you? Are you listening to the intelligence and wisdom it offers? We wouldn't be cruel to a puppy that was in pain, overweight, or sick, so why do we sometimes treat our own bodies with disdain?
At first, our body whispers to us, but often we ignore it. As it gets louder, we may curse it, and when it finally breaks down, we may shame it. But it's time for a change. Let's take a step back, reframe our mindset, and start building a healthy relationship with the amazing biological machine that carries us through life and allows us to engage in physical experiences and activities.
Take a moment to stand in front of a mirror and thank your body for all that it does for you. It's truly a remarkable vehicle, and we owe it our appreciation (and perhaps an apology for not treating it better).

Buckle up for an incredible conversation with one of the world's most elite and mentally tough humans, Nick Lavery. Nick is an active duty member of The United States Army Special Forces, commonly known as Green Berets. He's the first Green Beret to return to combat as an above the knee amputee after surviving an insider attack on his second rotation to Afghanistan. Nick's remarkable story is a testament to the power of the human mind and the ability to overcome self-doubt and adversity.
In this episode, we delve deep into, and learn from Nick's journey of tapping into and developing his mental toughness. We discuss the relationship between happiness and dissatisfaction and how ambition and contentment can coexist. Nick shares his insights on life, values, confidence, meaning, and mindset. He's a hell of a guest, and I know you'll love this conversation every bit as much as I did.

The issue of consent is a serious one that demands our attention. The boundaries are blurred, and it's shameful that in a whopping 99.5% of cases, perpetrators of sexual assault walk free and continue to harm others. It's a mess, to say the least.
But we're fortunate to have people like Dr. Lisa Smith leading the charge for change. Through her website, Right2Consent.com, Lisa is creating new avenues for survivors to report sexual assault and rape to law enforcement.
In today's conversation, we tackle the tough topics head-on. We discuss the alarming statistics, experiences (personal and otherwise) of sexual violence and abuse, and the long-lasting effects on survivors from childhood into adulthood.
It's not an easy conversation to have, but it's a necessary one. Until we start talking about consent, too many people will continue to be affected by a lack of support, clarity, and justice.

In this ep I had the opportunity to chat with Ollie Ollerton, former Special Forces soldier, entrepreneur, author, and host of SAS Australia. We had a brilliant conversation about Ollie's life experiences, up and downs, and finding calm in the chaos.
It's been a wild and insightful ride for Ollie and I loved sitting down and hearing firsthand of the moments that became his own break point, (which also happens to be the title of one of his latest books) and catalyst for reaching previously his untapped potential.
Ollie shares his insights around the concept of feeling peace in war, of finding comfort in the chaos and of how to overcome challenges by embracing the war within ourselves. Oh yeah, and the incredible story about his brutal and almost fatal run in with a chimpanzee at 10 years old.
I hope you love listening as much as I loved recording this episode!

When I first started boxing, I thrived on the hashtags #winnersneverquit and #quittersneverwin. At the time, it made perfect sense, and I still very much believe there's truth to it. But now, I also wonder: In what situations can quitting actually be a win? And when is it not? In this episode, our resident human behavior expert Bobby Cappuccio and I delve into the nuances of quitting, exploring when it can be a good idea and when it may not be. As with everything in life, context matters, and blindly following catchphrases without understanding our own goals can limit us and send us in the wrong direction.

Raise your hand if you ever worry about failing. Welcome to the club, that's pretty much just human beings being human. What's interesting though is the times (like this week) when I have caught myself out red-handed as my mind scrambles for a story or excuse and falls embarrassingly short, leaving the oh-I'm-just-scared-I'll-fail door swinging wide-open in front of my very eyes. Yep, I busted myself in the act and I'm calling myself out publicly on it in this week's episode in the hope that my realisation can serve as a timely reminder for one/some of you tuning in.
Failing is absolutely necessary for success. Although it's uncomfortable to face, understanding this concept helps us avoid negative self-talk that ultimately holds us back from achieving our goals.
Go on... do the thing.

The novel idea of leading an easy life is a common aspiration, but doesn't it raises some important questions? First, what exactly constitutes a so-called "easy life"? Secondly, can a life that is easy also be a happy, strong, resilient, and fulfilling one? Conversely, does a life full of ups and downs, messiness, and emotional highs and lows necessarily result in unhappiness, unproductivity, and brokenness? Perhaps the key to happiness and fulfillment lies not in the pursuit of an easy life, but in developing a stronger, more adaptable, and confident version of oneself. In this episode, life-guru Craig Harper and I delve into this topic and go balls deep (are we allowed to say that these days?) in vulnerability and openness. Tune in for what might very well be one of my favourite conversations with Harps so far!

Are you (like me) one of those last-minute people who thrives on the self-imposed stress of flying by the seat of their pants? Well, turns out we're not alone! In fact, some of us are quite simply hardwired that way. If you can relate (or even if you can't), you're going to love this episode.
Stress inoculation is a process that involves exposing ourselves to manageable levels of stress to build resilience and improve our ability to cope with more significant stressors in the future. And who better to educate us on this topic than the resilience guru himself, Paul Taylor?
During our conversation, we explore the differences between being resilient and stress adapted, as well as exposure therapy and how our stress response system works. Paul is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the science behind stress inoculation, which is something we all need these days.

As I spoke with Curtis McGrath in this episode, I was struck by his extraordinary mindset. This is precisely what we all hope to emulate, so I sat mesmerized, listening closely and hunting for clues.
Curtis was a combat engineer deployed to Afghanistan when he stepped on an improvised explosive device (IED) and lost both legs. Astonishingly, just twenty minutes after his injury, he set his sights on the future and on representing his country once again. Rumor has it that he even said, "You'll see me in the Paralympics"...
These are the conversations I find most valuable because they allow us to tap into the real-life experiences of someone who has been through hell and back, yet has also moved mountains and achieved extraordinary success.
Enjoy!

Roll With The Punches is where we step into the ring and go toe to toe with the hard sh*t life throws our way.
Hosted by former boxing champ turned strength coach and speaker Tiff Cook, RWTP brings you big conversations with world-class guests about psychology, relationships, trauma, the brain, and the patterns that can make a bloody mess of our lives.
If you're curious about human behaviour, keen to challenge the stories you tell yourself, and want to understand why the hell you do what you do, you're in the right place. Tune in. Tiff's in your corner.
The goal? To question what you've always believed, understand yourself a little better, and turn those aha moments into actual change.
Because knowing better and doing better are two very different things.
And let's be honest... life's gonna keep throwing punches. We may as well learn how to roll with them.
