Seahawks Forever w/ Dan Viens

After having a 20-3 lead melt away last week against the Football Team, the Seahawks went in the opposite direction against an even better LA Rams defense to clinch the NFC West title in a 20-9 victory. Tied 6-6 at the half, after having a underwhelming first half were he was 0-3 on deep throws, Russell Wilson could have taken the easy yards for a first down. Instead, he takes his fourth shot deep to David Moore. It's that big play helps set up the first touchdown of the day for Russ (assisted by a butt block from Will Dissly as one listener points out in 'From the Flock'). Although Shaquille Griffin gets an OUT this week for his role in the biggest offensive play for the Rams, it spurs a discussion comparing Poona Ford to DK Metcalf. Don't close your eyes, don't fall asleep (like Jordan Simmons), tune in this week because you don't want to miss a thing in this week's 3 IN, 3 OUT.

The Seattle Seahawks earned the NFC West title on Sunday with a 20-9 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. It was their most dominant win against a Rams team in the Sean McVay era, as the previous two wins came on last-second attempts by LA for a game-winning score. Instead, the Seahawks were able to put the game away with a touchdown to Jacob Hollister with under three minutes to play. John Morgan joins the show this week to talk about the Seahawks defense and their ability to hold the Rams to 9 points, and how the safety play from the tandem of Jamal Adams and Quandre Diggs was a big impact in the win. Russell Wilson missed on three deep throws in the first half, but hit a deep shot to Moore near the start of the third quarter that helped propel the team toward victory and the division title.

The Los Angeles Rams are coming off a devastating loss that cost them a chance to lock of a playoff berth. However, come Sunday, the Rams may already be in the playoffs if the Cardinals beat the 49ers. How will the Sean McVay and Jared Goff respond to the loss? Bear Mader of Locked on Rams joins the show to preview the game and says if you look back to some of the Rams efforts with four turnovers, they've bounced back well. However, there are concerns from fans when it comes to McVay admitting that this Rams team has not been able to build an identity on offense. Will having an improved pass rush and full complement of running backs give Pete Carroll what he needs to respond to a history of dominance by McVay? We discuss some of the exciting matchups within the game on Sunday,

The Seahawks 20-3 lead melted away late in the game, which had a lot of fans frustrated that Seattle couldn't put this game away when they had multiple opportunities. Yet, the Seahawks got the win and we start with giving an IN to Benson Mayowa for making the first defensive play for a loss against Washington's top offensive weapon. Despite having a really big play in the game, one running back landed in the OUT column for not moving the chains in critical moments that could have helped Seattle put the game away a lot sooner. Later in the show, we talk about D.J. Reed and get deep into the statistics for just how impressive his performance was to go along with his interception in the 3rd quarter. Finally, for as disappointed Seahawks fans appeared on Twitter after the game, the From the Flock segment at the end of the show was a heavy dose of INs (even if some were for the Jets).

The Seattle Seahawks are now 10-4 on the season and finished at 4-1 when traveling to the opposite coast this year. The final two teams they face this year lost on Sunday. The Rams loss allowed the Seahawks to move into first place in the NFC West as Seattle clinched a playoff spot with their 20-15 win over the Washington Football Team. Bill Alvstad of the Seahawks Playbook podcast joined the show to discuss the Seahawks win and if there was more concern about the way the offense or defense played late in the game. Was the Seahawks lowest passing output of 2020 by design or was it due to Russell Wilson's performance? We also discuss whether D.J. Reed has shown enough to hold on to the outside cornerback spot once Tre Flowers or Quinton Dunbar returns.

The Seattle Seahawks have the opportunity on Sunday to secure a spot in the playoffs with a win over the Washington Football Team. Two weeks ago, when Seattle played the Giants, New York's defense found ways to slow down and frustrate Russell Wilson. Samuel Gold recently shared his breakdown of the game on Field Gulls and, as a fan of the Football Team, thinks that this defense has the ability to slow down the Seattle passing game. However, they are missing a top corner to match up against DK Metcalf. Sam talks about how the Washington defense generally approaches opposing receivers. Another matchup to watch on the defensive line is Montez Sweat on the Seahawks right tackle. We also discuss the kind of impact Jamal Adams could have in this game, whether Alex Smith is able to play or if Seattle will face Dwayne Haskins.

Shaun Alexander is the known as the best player in Seahawks history to wear the number 37. For just the second time in team history (but the first since Alexander left the team) the Seahawks outscored their opponent by 37 points. It was the biggest margin of victory since Seattle beat the Arizona Cardinals 58-0 back in 2012. Celebrating the win, Clinton Bonner brings out some of the micro-moments from the game that are worthy of celebrating, as well as some of the moments that may still be bothering fans in the days following the victory. For what the Seahawks team may have lost in missed opportunities, the Jets had to pay in the currency of player souls. However, while it was nice to see a pairing of Hyde and Carson running wild on Sunday, one of the two flipped into reverse when it came to carrying the ball on second down.
