  • NFC West recap from Sunday, Pete Carroll talks about the Seahawks resiliency this season
The Seattle Seahawks remain in second place in the division despite the Arizona Cardinals looking as though they might be able to pull off a victory in Santa Clara on Sunday. The Cardinals were up 16-0 early on in the game, bounced back from 17 unanswered points by the 49ers, and even held a lead late into the fourth quarter after scoring 10 points in the second half. San Francisco came away with the victory and so did the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football. The Bears kept it close, but the Rams were able to stay within a couple games of the Seahawks and picked up a 17-10 win. The Seahawks next opponent, the Philadelphia Eagles, dropped a game at home to the New England Patriots.
After a look at Sunday's action, it's a look back at Pete Carroll's bye week press conference. Carroll talked about why he thinks the pass rush was successful against San Francisco, and what he thought about Shaquem Griffin getting some snaps late in the game to go after the quarterback. Coach provided his thoughts on Quandre Diggs who played the entire game at free safety after coming over from the Detroit Lions. How will that impact rookie Marquise Blair going forward? One of Pete Carroll's main rules for the team is that he is "all about the ball," and when several plays demonstrated the team's lack of ball security, he says it's something he's going to focus on even more in the coming weeks.

  • Russell Wilson gets three chances to win in OT, Week 11 picks
The Seahawks have won in overtime now in back-to-back weeks as Seattle moves to 5-0 on the road this season for the first time in franchise history. There were big swings in this game both caused by the defense on both sides of the football. The first one came on a fumble recovery for a touchdown by Jadeveon Clowney. The second one was a double fumble by Russell Wilson and Germaine Ifedi that allowed the 49ers to get back into the game when Seattle was up by double digits. Anthony and Brandan take a look at the NFC and where the Seahawks stand among the other teams and make their picks for Week 11 of the NFL season.

  • 3 IN, 3 OUT: Shaquill Griffin has the 49ers (and Gotham) on lockdown
Eighty percent of the time, this show kicks off starting with an IN every time. In previous weeks, Jadeveon Clowney has been going stag to the pass rush party, but this week he brought multiple plus ones. Shaquill Griffin continues to hit the IN side of the ledger and does so while doing his best impersonation of volleyball legend Karch Kiraly. And while Lockett, Metcalf and Hollister have been Russell Wilson's favorite go-to targets as of late, it was a pair of receivers, "The Other Guys," as they're now dubbed who showed up in some of the biggest third down moments of the game.
So who hit the OUT side of the ledger? Joey Hunt getting trucked by a 49ers defensive lineman? Germaine Ifedi going for a terrible Jerome Bettis impersonation? What about the Seattle defense dropping as many interceptable passes as the Seahawks offense put on the ground? Tune in and listen to some of the best and worst moments from the Seahawks biggest win of 2019.

  • RECAP: 49ers vs Seahawks - Another week, another overtime thriller
Russell Wilson has played in some wild games in his career and this is feeling like a wild season as Seahawks fans experienced a roller coaster of emotions on Monday night. Mookie Alexander joined me on the podcast this week to talk about the ups and downs as the Seahawks went 3-and-out for their only two drives of the first quarter. The Seattle offense failed to score in the first half, instead it was Jadeveon Clowney posting the biggest game of his Seahawks career and took a turnover into the end zone for his second touchdown on the season.
A fumble on an incredible effort by D.K. Metcalf to try and score a touchdown at the end of the half allowed the San Francisco 49ers to maintain their lead at halftime. Two turnovers by San Francisco helped allow the Seahawks offense to score 14 unanswered points and look like they might be able to coast to a double digit victory in the fourth quarter. But, as Mookie reminds us much like in the game against the Steelers, it was a fumble that allowed their opponent to get back in the game. After the 49ers were within three, the two teams traded field goals to send the game into overtime.
The roller coaster continued into the extra minutes of the game as Wilson led Seattle into the red zone before throwing his second interception of the season. After a missed field goal in overtime by the 49ers, the third drive by the Seahawks was the charm and Jason Myers was able to connect on the winning field goal as time expired.

  • Seahawks vs 49ers: A look at the injury report and key stats
It's gameday and the Seahawks and 49ers both have some long injury reports going into the Monday night football game. Four of the five Seahawks starting offensive lineman are listed with injuries going into the game against San Francisco. But the only two players who are listed as questionable for Seattle aren't in the starting lineup. The 49ers though have a couple key players listed as doubtful with their kicker potentially out tonight as well as their Pro Bowl tight end George Kittle. Brandan also takes a look at some of the numbers that each team's quarterbacks have been putting up to this point of the season. On defense, the 49ers have been extremely dominant, but this will be the first time they face off against a dominant quarterback like Russell Wilson who has put up MVP numbers even while under pressure.

  • San Francisco preview with former 49ers CB Eric Davis
On Monday, the Seattle Seahawks face the San Francisco 49ers for the first time this season. Seattle is 2-0 in the NFC West with wins over the Arizona Cardinals and the Los Angeles Rams and their only losses this season have been at home versus two of the NFL's top teams. To preview the prime time matchup on Monday, former 49ers cornerback Eric Davis joins the Field Gulls podcast.
In response to former teammate Jerry Rice predicting a Super Bowl victory for the 49ers this year, Davis offers his thoughts on picking a Super Bowl winner at the midpoint of the season. He talks about what made Pete Carroll one of his favorite coaches of his career and what he's seen out of his former defensive teammate Ken Norton Jr as defensive coordinator this season.
On his Wednesday episode of the Bleav in 49ers podcast, Davis picked Russell Wilson as his NFL MVP at the midpoint of the season. He talks about the progress he's seen from Wilson over his career and who Russell has to worry about when it comes to the San Francisco 49ers defense on Monday night.

  • Russell Wilson's top tier receiving duo, Week 10 NFL picks
Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf combined for more than 275 yards through the air against the Bucs on Sunday. To find a better day for a pair of Seahawks wide receivers, you have to go back to the 1987 strike season when Steve Largent lit up a defense full of players who were third-string talent by NFL standards. With the defense struggling this season, Russell Wilson will need to continue his MVP-level play from the first half of the season against a tough second-half schedule. Brandan and Anthony talk about the challenge ahead with the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night and give their Week 10 picks.

  • 3 IN, 3 OUT: 500 miles for another Tyler Lockett touchdown
With the Seahawks 40-34 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Seattle now moves to 7-2 going into Week 10. In this show, Clinton Bonner takes a look at three of the best and worst under the radar moments of the game as Mychal Kendricks is recognized for some early plays that helped lead to the first punt by the Bucs. But, on the other side of the ledger, the guy that Kendricks usually comes off the field for had a big missed tackle and had a rough day on defense. Tune into the show to get Clinton's take on his favorite D.K. Metcalf moment and a play by a tight end that led to a key score. Because we take the good with the bad, two of the Seahawks top defensive players are called out for negative plays that ultimately led to touchdowns by Tampa.

  • RECAP: Russell Wilson takes the Seahawks into overtime with another MVP effort
If you tuned into last week's preview of Sunday's game against the Bucs, you probably heard Anthony Nachreiner give us an idea of exactly what to expect from his Tampa team. The game played out nearly how he anticipated. Tampa Bay got out to an early lead, Seattle got back into the game, and it was a timely turnover by the Bucs offense (and somewhat of a fluke) that allowed Seattle to pull ahead. However, the Seahawks left plenty of points on the field by settling for a field goal after the turnover and watching two field goals and an extra point fail to go through the uprights. The rough day by kicker Jason Myers was ultimately overshadowed by another MVP performance by Russell Wilson and big days for both Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf.

  • Seahawks claim Josh Gordon off waivers
The New England Patriots released Josh Gordon after recently placing him on injured reserve. All coach Bill Belichick has to say about it is that they released him "because he was healthy." He goes into even less detail when asked to describe Gordon's time in New England. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll was on the podium Friday after the Seahawks made the move and responds to questions about the acquisition. Seattle now has eight receivers on the roster, but one could be gone on Saturday to make room for tight end Ed Dickson. The episode closes with a look at the injury report for the Seahawks and Bucs.
