  • Ravens preview: Rattling Lamar Jackson early could be key for the Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks return home after a third straight road win to face Earl Thomas and the Baltimore Ravens. Jake Louque of the Baltimore Beatdown Podcast joins me to preview Sunday's matchup. It's a matchup that turns what most people have previously considered the strengths of these two teams completely on its head.
The Seahawks enter Week 7 as Football Outsiders top ranked passing offense and third in the NFL for offensive DVOA. The Ravens offense is right behind the Seahawks in DVOA and rank first in the NFL in total yards averaging 450 yards per game and second in average points with 30.7. The former strengths of these two teams have turned into relatively average defenses. Each team barely has double digit sacks (Seattle with 10, Baltimore has 11) and both are in the bottom half of the league in points allowed per game (Seahawks are 20th with 24.3 and Ravens are 17th with 23.3).
The key is going to be stopping Lamar Jackson, who became the first player to ever win both air and ground player of the week honors in a single season, and Louque says that the key is rattling Jackson early and taking away his deeper options throwing down field.

  • Ranking the Seahawks position groups through the first six weeks
Going into the season, Seahawks fans all had expectations of how certain position groups would perform. After six weeks of football, there is a solid base of performance and metrics on which to base our opinions. Adam Nathan of the Pedestrian Podcast joins Brandan Schulze to do a schoolyard pick of the position groups on offense (QB, RB, TE, WR and offensive line), the areas of defense (DL, LB, DB), and special teams.
It should be no surprise that the quarterback group is taken off the board first considering Russell Wilson getting attention as the league's leading MVP candidate through six weeks. Tune in to hear the order of picks, the rationale behind the decisions, and which personnel group is the last one picked.

  • Bucs TE O.J. Howard as a trade target for Seattle, Ramsey to the Rams, and Week 7 NFL picks
The Seahawks are coming off a 32-28 victory over the Browns, but the victory didn't come without some concern as the Browns were able to put up three touchdowns early on in the game. The loss of Will Dissly means that Russell Wilson has lost one of his favorite receiving targets. Could O.J. Howard of the Bucs be on the trade block? As a Bucs fan, Anthony thinks a 2nd round pick or a 3rd with additional picks could help make the deal happen. With Earl Thomas coming back to town, we talk about what the potential reaction could be and what kind of game we can expect between these two teams.

  • 3 IN, 3 OUT: The Seahawks are 5-1 Drinking Game
Many of these topics have been covered coming out of the game: the defense struggling to put pressure on Baker Mayfield, Russell Wilson's ability to lead the Seahawks back from big deficits, or Chris Carson continuing to play with his dominant, physical style. Clinton Bonner and Brandan Schulze team up to talk about four particular plays and two themes that may be under the radar coming out of the 32-28 victory. The guys start out by talking about one play by the Seahawks that might be getting more press because of the celebration, rather than the pass by Wilson and the hit that he had to take when delivering the ball to Jaron Brown. As Seattle improves to 5-1 on the season, please use this episode responsibly if deciding to turn it into a drinking game.

  • RECAP: Seahawks vs Browns - Pete Prisco now has Russell Wilson's back
The Seahawks face some adversity on the road, giving up three straight touchdowns to start the game and are able to come back from a 20-6 deficit to win 32-28. Christopher Kidd of the Seahawks Man 2 Man podcast joined me to talk about the victory and the resume that Russell Wilson continues to put up for his MVP campaign. It even has one of Wilson's previous detractors Pete Prisco jumping on the hype train after the win,
Pete Carroll talked about how turnovers come in bunches sometimes and it was a forced fumble by Ziggy Ansah, and interceptions my Tre Flowers, KJ Wright and Tedric Thompson. Thompson now has an interception in back-to-back games. Baker Mayfield was complaining about some missed calls by the referees after the game, but while the Browns were able to drive the field against the Seahawks defense, it was those turnovers in critical moments that helped propel Seattle to victory.

  • If Brown and Fluker can't play vs Browns - who fills in on the offensive line?
With both Duane Brown and D.J. Fluker listed as doubtful for Sunday's matchup with the Cleveland Browns, the Seahawks offensive line depth is going to be tested in Sunday's game. A key piece of that depth, Ethan Pocic, was just moved on injured reserve and guard Jordan Roos was called up from the practice squad to take his place. Another roster move may offer a glimpse into what the Seahawks may have to do on Sunday as tight end Jacob Hollister is brought up to the 53-man roster. George Fant, who has played primarily at tight end this season, could take Brown's spot at left tackle which would allow Jamarco Jones to continue playing right guard after filling in for Fluker last week. Understandably, Pete Carroll didn't want to give away exactly how they might approach those spots heading into the game, but we do get to hear from him on goals for Russell Wilson's improvement this season. We also hear him talk about the importance of getting pressure on the quarterback in this week's matchup. • Cleveland Browns vs Seattle Seahawks Week 6 preview with Jim Harold
The Seahawks have an opportunity to reach some tie some franchise marks with a win on Sunday over the Cleveland Browns. Win a win, they could go to 5-1 on the season and match a couple of the best starts in franchise history going back to 2003 and 2013. They haven't started 3-0 on the road since 1980 - back when Jim Zorn was quarterback. And Zorn's name comes up a lot in this episode, because today's guest is Jim Harold, host of the Paranormal Podcast and long-time Browns fan. Jim reminds of the days when the Seahawks had the Browns number, even at the start of Seattle's franchise. They hold a 12-6 overall record now, but the last few matchups in Cleveland have not worked out as well as Seahawks fans would hope.

  • Jadeveon Clowney is poised for a big game against the Browns, and Week 6 NFL picks
The Seahawks are coming off a Week 5 victory, 30-29 win over the Rams at CenturyLink Field, and the first thing Anthony pointed toward in this game was the missed field goal by the Rams. Seattle had a chance to put the game away before the miss, but the Rams certainly had a chance to win the game in the end. Will Dissly continues to be a top target for Russell Wilson and Jadeveon Clowney seems to be trending upward. Could this week against the Browns be an opportunity for him to have a big game, especially considering what we saw Nick Bosa do to the Browns offensive line on Monday. The guys close out the show by making their selections for the Week 6 games.

  • 3 IN, 3 OUT: Sometimes the sun goes round Al Woods
Every week, this episode of the podcast is dedicated to finding some of the smaller, less talked about moments from the previous game that deserve discussion. But there are some plays that are so monumental they can't be ignored. That's why Clinton Bonner starts off this week's 3 IN, 3 OUT by talking about the "Rainbow Connection." Two players in the trenches get the spotlight in the second IN. And speaking of connections, how did Vanessa Williams have the foresight to sing about Al Woods back when her song was topping the charts in 1991? Because it was such a big win over our division Rivals, Clinton throws in a bonus IN for a military veteran honored during the game and a moment that many of us didn't see who watched on TV.

  • Pete Carroll on short yardage situations, "We need to be better"
Head Coach Pete Carroll was on the podium on Friday following the 30-29 victory over the division rival Los Angeles Rams. Carroll was asked about Russell Wilson's increcible performance and was also asked about how it compared to Wilson's historic stretch run back in 2015. Pete evaluated the defenses performance and how the Rams were perhaps more dedicated with playing two tight ends throughout the game more than Carroll had anticipated. Jamarco Jones had a standout performance filling in at right guard for D.J. Fluker. Will Dissly continues to impress on offense with 88 yards on the night. Coach Carroll said Jadeveon Clowney had a solid performance and was very close to having an incredible night. Of course he was part of a big fumble by Todd Gurley as the Rams were driving and in position to score. Pete also addressed the thinking behind settling for the field goal on fourth down near the end of the first half.
