People pleasing often leads to a severe lack of boundaries, self-esteem issues, and a constant need for validation. I know firsthand that changing this behavior is challenging and forces us to reflect on our fears—whether it’s fear of rejection or grappling with low self-esteem.

I recommend strategies like writing down your feelings and setting clear boundaries to begin overcoming these tendencies. It’s also crucial to manage guilt, affirm your self-worth, and limit exposure to negative influences for self-care. It’s equally important to celebrate your progress, no matter how small, in setting boundaries and prioritizing yourself. After all, saying yes to yourself and no to others sometimes is necessary for mental and emotional well-being.

Failing to set boundaries can take a real toll on your health, impacting your lifestyle and overall well-being. Prioritizing self-care isn’t just a buzzword; it’s essential for your happiness. Happiness should always come from within, and it's not your responsibility to make others happy.

People pleasers not only lack boundaries but also feel responsible for others' feelings. This leads to exhaustion and resentment because there's rarely any reciprocation. It's a constant cycle of prioritizing others at the expense of self, which can even strain relationships due to an inability to be authentic or communicate openly.

I host self-love coaching sessions for both men and women to address these deep-rooted issues. In these sessions, we focus on doing the work with intention to foster genuine self-love and personal growth. Remember, your worth isn’t tied to how useful or agreeable you are to others.

3. **Faith and Prayer**: Praying for guidance and for the right people to come into your life can make a significant difference.

4. **Seek Wisdom**: Surround yourself with wise, loving individuals who can provide insights and guidance. However, also be cautious about whom you share your plans with, as negativity or ignorance from others can be detrimental.

5. **Be True to Yourself**: Consistently emphasize the importance of staying true to who you are, embracing your authentic self, and not letting fear or societal pressure change your core values.

6. **Action is Required**: It's not enough to have faith or pray; you also need to take action toward your goals. God helps those who help themselves by taking actionable steps.

7. **Process Over Perfection**: Understand that nothing is perfect from the get-go. Life is a series of steps and processes. Trust the process and believe that everything will work out in due time.

8. **Value of Memories**: Capture moments through pictures as they tell a story and serve as a grounding reminder of how you felt at a particular moment in time.

9. **Support and Encouragement**: The importance of community and support,  sharing your stories, and supporting each other provides a strong impact.

10. **Navigate Setbacks**: View setbacks or "no's" as opportunities to learn and build rather than as definitive ends. This involves understanding the reasons behind a setback and actively working to overcome them.

People shift blame to protect their self-esteem and avoid guilt or responsibility for negative outcomes. This behavior stems from a lack of honesty, self-accountability, and the fear of consequences.

I also introduce the concept of cognitive dissonance, where individuals hold contradictory beliefs that cause internal conflict, leading them to blame others rather than face the truth. Overthinking can result in mental and physical exhaustion, impact sleep, and strain relationships due to increased critical feelings and misunderstandings. To combat overthinking, I advocate for strategies like mindfulness, setting time limits for decision-making, and focusing on actionable steps. I also suggests removing oneself from the situation, utilizing breath work, engaging in activities like listening to music or reading, and even prayer.
