In today’s episode of SHE-talks E-commerce we have a ripper of a chat with the incredible Renee Moore, founder of Cinch Skin.
Renee’s story begins with an idea that many thought was impossible—a 5-in-1 beauty product. Faced with scepticism from manufacturers who couldn’t understand why she’d want to sell one product instead of five, Renee persevered, got her product made, and successfully pitched it to Priceline, securing national distribution.
But the story doesn’t stop there. Renee realised that relying on one major retailer for 80% of her business was risky. So, she made a gutsy decision to pull Cinch Skin out of Priceline and shift her focus to direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales through her e-commerce website. The results? A whopping 43% increase in sales, with 80% of the business now coming from D2C and only 20% from wholesale.
Join us as Renee shares her journey, the challenges she faced, and the strategies that led to her remarkable success.
We dive into:
✨ The Big Idea: How Renee came up with the concept for a 5-in-1 beauty product and the challenges she faced in getting it manufactured.
✨ Pitching to Priceline: The story behind how Renee got her innovative product ranged nationally
✨ The Bold Decision: Why Renee decided to pull out of Priceline and shift her focus to D2C sales, despite the risks.
✨ E-commerce Success: How Cinch Skin’s e-commerce sales have grown by 43% since making the switch from wholesale to D2C.
✨ Lessons Learned: Renee shares valuable insights on the importance of diversification and building a strong D2C channel.
Tune in to hear Renee’s inspiring story and learn how strategic decisions can transform your business!
