The Bees have been Emily's biggest teacher in life! Being there through the birth of her daughter & deeply interwoven in the creation of her business - Embodybee.  Her business & life purpose is driven by a dream to restore the sacred connection between bees and humans.  She lives a bee centred way of life, which if your wondering what that means, Emily has it best on her website as -  “Bee-centered means that I everything I do puts the needs of the bees first before my human greed. The bee hives I own are little temples of worship, they are all lovingly collected and thoughtfully placed. I name my hives, talk to them like my friends and adorn them with paint and beautiful designs.” 
 Living a bee centred life also means not tending to the bees in the way conventional beekeepers do, which Emily goes a bit deeper into & it was truly fascinating to learn some of the differences.  
 Through her business Embodybee, Emily teachers others the way of natural bee tending and hand-makes products such as her “Nectar of the goddesses”  that acts as a bridge to carry the healing & medicinal properties of the hive to the people, in a way that is respectful and working with the bees natural flow. 社長就任前は、先代社長と社員のパイプ役としてコミュニケーションギャップを埋めていた河原崎さん。

ご自身が社長になられた際は、そんなクッションとなる存在が無い事に最初は戸惑いがあったそうです。

比較対象がある事が自分の強みだとプラスに捉え、社内外問わず、自分の意見が言い合える「仲間」を持つことが会社の未来を創る事につながると考え、そのための手段に「コミュニケーション」を活用されておられます。

「何でも話せる友達」では無く、「慰め合う集まり」でも無ければ、「叱咤激励するコーチ」でも無い。

河原崎さんが定義する「仲間」とは、「自分という存在としっかりコミュニケーションできる相手」となります。

河原崎社長：あれよあれよという間に大人の事情に流され？何社かの会社で修業をさせていただき現在の河原崎製作所へ戻ってきた・・・という感じです。

そのため、金型の仕事がやりたくて始めた訳ではありませんが、今、仕事をしているのは（出来るのは）金型を通じて知り合った取引先さんを始めスタッフと一緒に仕事をするのが楽しいからです。

自分らしさという「個」の集合体が「仲間」
「仲間が必要な理由は、会社を守るため」と河原崎社長は唱えます。

社長のミッションは、社員とその家族と取引先の全てを守りながら社会貢献する事です。

会社を守るための判断や決断を「自分だけ」で行うと、一か八かのギャンブル経営になります。

河原崎社長は、解決策や最善の提案は、複数の人間の考え方を持ち寄り、最大公約数を割り出して線を引く事が重要だと考えます。

この「どこで線を引くか」という決断をする役割が社長です。
集まる情報の数が少ないままでは、最大公約数が小さいまま線を引く事となり、会社を守る事が難しくなります。

社内メンバー、社外の経営者の仲間、信頼できる取引先やパートナー、その全てを「仲間」ととらえ、丁寧なコミュニケーションを心がける事で、時代の変化に対応した強い組織がキープできているのです。
2代目社長の「自分勝手」と「自分らしさ」の違い
河原崎社長が「自分勝手」だと、仲間とのバランスは一気に崩壊します。

自分勝手ではなく、「自分らしく」いる事で、あらゆる「自分らしい」人たちとのご縁を生み、頼もしい個性が集まり最大公約数がどんどん大きくなっていくのが理想です。

2代目社長が事業承継において重要視した事
河原崎社長は、前回でも触れましたように、事業承継における「武者修行」は完璧にこなされておられました。

そのため、業界の常識や商習慣、製造業のスキルなどは兼ね備えた状態での承継となります。

そうなれば「壁に相当するのは社内のコミュニケーションだ」という位置づけを早い段階で見いだされます。

業務的なことよりも「人」に着目し、共通言語やポリシーを共有した上でのコミュニケーションを丁寧に取り扱われています。
2代目社長ならではの手腕と人間らしさ
先代社長と比べ、若い世代が社長を承継すると、必ず起るのが上の世代とのコミュニケーションギャップです。

「どちらが正しいか？」という対立関係は何の意味も持ちませんので、会社全体の最大公約数として線引をした場合、「どの考え方が会社の未来を創るのか？会社を守る、社員を守る、取引先を守る、そのために自分たちの姿勢をどうべきか？」の選択を迫られる事になります。

先代社長の時代に「良し」とされてきたルールがそのまま次の世代や未来に対しても「良し」となれば継続でも構わないですが、時代の流れが発生している以上、ほとんどのケースで「良し」だけでは無いはずです。

河原崎さんは、「時代は変化している」というメッセージを社員と共有するために、これまではこれまで、これからはまた別だ、という価値観をコミュニケーションの核として、社員全員で未来を創っていく社長ポジションを心がけておられます。

河原崎：ジェネレーションギャップは今日明日で解決するようなものではない。なかなか思う通りに進まないし、未だに苦戦中(笑)。
人を変えるなんて自分ができるわけが無いから、自分が変わる。
変わった自分の影響力で会社のムードを変えていく。

河原崎社長は、プラスチック射出成形用の金型を設計・製造するメーカーの2代目として手腕を奮っておられます。

主に取り扱う商品は「自動車の内装パーツ」。
自動車のフロントパネルにあるボタン類などの多くは河原崎製作所さん製なので、きっと皆さんも目にしています。

また、オーディオ機器メーカーから「ヘッドホン」や「イヤホン」などの音響機器製造にもたずさわっておられます。
その他、医療関連の部品の実績も多数あり、日常の生活になくてはならないアイテムのあちらこちらで使われておられます。

2代目社長になるまでの職業遍歴
生活に欠かせないアイテムづくりをされている2代目社長の河原崎さんですが、卒業後すぐにお父様の会社を継がれたわけではありません。

インタビュー抜粋

河原崎：父が昭和58年に独立し、河原崎製作所を始めました。
しかし私は、母から強く「サラリーマンになって欲しい」と希望されていたのもあり、後を継ぐ気は0.1mmもありませんでした。

ものづくりは好きだったので工業高校を卒業し「歯車」を造る会社に就職させていただき設計という部署に配属され数年が経つなか、色々あり「このままで良いのか？」と思う時期がありました。

転職という選択の中に「河原崎製作所」も考えられるかな？と両親に相談したところ、勝手に？次の就職先が決められておりました（笑）。



ここからお父様による半ば強引な「武者修行」の決行と同時に、複数の会社で様々な経験をする2代目社長冒険譚がスタートします。

関連会社でスキルを鍛え、満を持して家業である「河原崎製作所」にご帰還されるのですが、、、

涙の出会いあり、笑いあり、確信あり、の波乱万丈な河原崎さんの人生は、これから自分らしく生きようとしていく人に向けた「決意・判断」のヒントがたくさん得られるはずです。
