Welcome to the SYNC Your Life podcast episode #32! On this podcast, we will be diving into all things women's hormones to help you learn how to live in alignment with your female physiology. Too many women are living with their check engine lights flashing. You know you feel "off" but no matter what you do, you can't seem to have the energy, or lose the weight, or feel your best. This podcast exists to shed light on the important topic of healthy hormones and cycle syncing, to help you gain maximum energy in your life. In today's episode, I'm covering one of the four fundamentals of hormone balance: sleep. We discuss the reboot that occurs when you get good deep, and good REM sleep, and the importance of it in regulating your weight, hormones, and brain health.
In this episode, I mention the Oura Ring, found here.
I also refer to blue light blocking glasses. Here are my favorite, and my favorites for my little girls.
I also highly recommend reading Arianna Huffington's book, "The Sleep Revolution."
Always ask your doctor their advice when it comes to incorporating new supplements into your regimen. I suggest inquiring about magnesium glycenate.
L-theanine is another supplement mentioned in this podcast.
Limiting caffeine, especially after noon each day, can help improve sleep quality as well. If you're a coffee drinker, also consider sticking to clean, mycotoxin free coffee. Here are my favorite brands:
Lifeboost
Bulletproof (Use the Code jenny at checkout)
FourSigmatic (Use the Code JENNY10 at checkout)

Welcome to the SYNC Your Life podcast episode #30! In today's episode, I'm covering proper hormone testing: the methods, the timing, and more! Too many women are being told their bloodwork looks "normal" when in reality, they feel off and their testing isn't reflecting a deep enough picture of what's going on for them. In this episode, I cover my favorite forms of testing, why urine and saliva is superior when it comes to sex hormone testing, proper timing in the menstrual cycle for testing, and why it's important to have a 24 hour look at your cortisol.
You can get $100 off the DUTCH home test by using my coupon code: jsl100 via https://dutchtest.com/patients/.
In this episode, I reference this previous podcast on tracking your cycle.
I also reference supplementation for low ferritin. While utilizing your doctor's suggestions is best, consider asking them about BloodBuilders to help support these blood levels.

In today's episode, I'm covering a controversial topic: the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting for women. In this show, I cite credible medical sources, most notably Dr. Stacy Sims. We discuss for whom the keto diet was originally intended, what issues typically arise for women who follow this regimen, and what the research looks like on cycling females.

In today's episode, I'm covering what it means to track your menstrual cycle, and how you should go about doing it. This is, by far, step #1 to understanding what's going on with your sex hormone health. Knowing the patterns of any imbalance symptoms is crucial when meeting with your functional medicine practitioner.
In this episode, I refer to two apps I recommend using for tracking: MyFlo and FitRWoman.
I also refer to the SYNC scope, a saliva microscope known to be most accurate at detecting ovulation. Whether using it for fertility reasons, to avoid pregnancy, or simply to understand your cycle for cycle syncing, it's an absolute game changer. You can find it here.
