In Episode 133 of the "Best Coach Ever" podcast, we dive into why September is the perfect time to hit the reset button on your coaching business. First off, let’s talk about why I call September the “second New Year.” If you’ve noticed a slump in sales during the summer, you’re not alone, but now’s the time to snap out of it—buyer behavior shifts, routines are back, and people are ready to refocus on their goals. This is your chance to capitalize.
Next, let’s get real about the importance of niching down. If you’re still trying to serve everyone, you’re serving no one. Ultra-niche is the name of the game—get specific about who you help and how, or you’ll get lost in the crowd. And while we’re on the subject, your content strategy better be on point. Posting randomly or copying others won’t cut it. Consistency and intentionality are the keys to building an engaged audience that’s ready to buy.
Finally, if you don’t have a strong coaching offer, now’s the time to refine it. A good program doesn’t just have features—it gets results. And don’t forget, selling isn’t about being pushy; it’s about clearly communicating why your offer is the perfect fit. So, take this time of year seriously, dial in your focus, and build momentum for an even bigger 2024. And if you’re ready to level up, you know where to find me. Let’s make it happen.
In this episode, I cover:
- Why September marks a fresh start for many.
- Highlights how buyer behavior shifts during this time for fitness coaches.
- September to December can outperform January to April in sales for many coaches.
- Coaches should use this period to gain new clients and build strong momentum for the following year.
- Coaches who wait until January to ramp up miss key opportunities.
- The work done in the fall sets the stage for success in the new year.
- Emphasizes the value of being ultra-niched to attract the right clients.
- Coaches who focus too broadly lose out on building expertise and attracting ideal clients.
- The need for a strong content strategy to engage the right audience.
- Consistent posting helps build trust, engagement, and leads for coaches.
- A good coaching offer is more than a list of features—it should guide clients toward specific results.
- Programs that get results naturally generate stronger testimonials and client satisfaction.
- Marketing isn’t manipulation; it’s about clearly communicating the value of your program.
- Confident marketing and sales skills are crucial to converting interested clients.
- Announcing my upcoming three-day "Client's Cash and Confidence Challenge."
- Listeners are encouraged to sign up for this free event, which will cover niching, content, and sales strategies.

In Episode 132 of the "Best Coach Ever" podcast, we tackle the sneaky ways perfectionism is sabotaging your business. Let’s be real—perfectionism isn’t just about wanting everything to be flawless. It’s that voice in your head telling you that if it’s not perfect, it’s not worth doing at all. Sound familiar?
First up, let's talk about how this shows up. You might not think you’re a perfectionist because you’re okay with 85% effort in most things. But if you’re constantly procrastinating, overthinking every move, or paralyzed by the fear of getting it wrong, you’re in the perfectionism trap. And trust me, it’s killing your progress.
Then there’s the creativity killer. Perfectionism puts a million filters on your ideas until they all seem terrible. How many times have you sat down to create content, only to convince yourself that nothing you come up with is good enough? It’s exhausting, and it’s stopping you from showing up consistently, which, let’s face it, is crucial if you want to grow your business.
So, what’s the solution? Messy action. Yep, I said it. Taking imperfect, messy, B-minus action is better than doing nothing at all. It’s time to lower those insane standards and start moving forward. Because in business, done is better than perfect, and consistency beats perfection every single time
In this episode, I cover:
- Almost canceling the episode due to lawnmower noises but decided to proceed.
- This situation serves as a real-time example of perfectionism in action.
- How ChatGPT helped me generate podcast ideas.
- The broader utility of AI in overcoming creative blocks and generating content.
- Perfectionism is more than just the need to get everything right; it includes unrealistic expectations.
- It can manifest as fear of failure, self-criticism, and procrastination.
- Almost delayed starting my podcast for three years due to perfectionism.
- Embracing "messy action" eventually led to the successful launch of my podcast.
- Perfectionism can cause new coaches to procrastinate and avoid taking necessary steps.
- The fear of making mistakes often leads to inaction and stunted business growth.
- Perfectionism acts as a filter that stifles creative ideas, making them seem inadequate.
- The pressure to produce perfect content can lead to creative blocks and inconsistent posting.
- Drawing parallels between perfectionism in fitness routines and business efforts.
- Emphasizes that consistent, imperfect action yields better results than aiming for perfection.
- Viewing business activities as experiments rather than opportunities to achieve perfection.
- Adopting a growth mindset helps reduce the pressure to be perfect and fosters continuous improvement.
- Encouraging you to take imperfect action in your businesses today.
- How consistent, even imperfect, action will lead to growth and success.
- Stressing the importance of embracing imperfection in business.
- Apply the insights shared today to your own entrepreneurial journey.
In Episode 131 of the "Best Coach Ever" podcast, we dive into the all-too-common mistake that online health and fitness coaches are making on social media in 2024. First off, I can't stress enough how crucial it is to keep up with these shifts. What worked last year? Ancient history. If you're not constantly evolving, you're already behind.
Next, let's talk about that "friend zone" vibe some of you are guilty of. Sure, being friendly is great, but if you’re not showing up as the leader and expert you are, you're missing the mark. People aren't looking to hire their fitness bestie—they want someone who knows their stuff and isn't afraid to show it.
And while we're at it, can we please retire the tired, salesy content that screams 2019? Your audience is bored, and frankly, so are you. It’s time to mix things up, keep them engaged, and show that you’re not just here to sell—you’re here to make an impact.
Despite the saturation in the coaching industry, there’s still room for you to shine if you play it smart. So, ditch the copycat strategies, get bold with your content, and remember that with the right approach, you’re unstoppable. And hey, if you’re still struggling, you know where to find me. Let’s keep pushing forward together.
In this episode, I cover:
- Discusses the challenges of staying focused and how it impacts daily tasks.
- Mistakes that fitness coaches are making on social media.
- Insights into how social media trends evolve rapidly & why old strategies may no longer work.
- Advice on staying ahead by observing your own behavior on social media.
- Importance of developing a personal brand beyond just business content.
- Examples of how I integrate my personality into my social media to connect with my audience.
- How you can unintentionally position yourself as a friend rather than an authoritative leader.
- Tips for projecting confidence and authority on social media.
- Critique of the repetitive "pain point" content style many coaches use.
- Importance of variety and complexity in content to keep the audience engaged.
- The pitfalls of mimicking other coaches' content without understanding the underlying strategy.
- The need for a unique and tailored content strategy to stand out in a saturated market.

In this episode of the Best Coach Ever Podcast, Lynette, just back from an FCBA Coaching Call, proves that grabbing inspiration on the fly beats waiting for a perfect setup. Raspy voice and all, she’s here to remind us that action trumps waiting for the stars to align.
We discuss the latest Fitness Coaching Business Accelerator call, tackling hot topics like Instagram audits, industry updates, and the mindset hurdles fitness coaches face. The big takeaway? The “Pass or Fail” mentality, where success is seen in black-and-white terms, is just like the all-or-nothing thinking in fitness.
Lynette drops a story about unrealistic relationship expectations to drive home the point that expecting instant success without recognizing the slow burn of progress only leads to frustration and disappointment.
The episode also gets real about the need for consistent social media engagement. Think of it as dating your audience—regular, genuine interactions are key to long-term success, not a one-off post or event.
Wrapping up, we’re all about smashing the pass-or-fail mindset with persistence and steady action. Remember, business success isn’t a finish line; it’s a journey. Focus on progress, not perfection, and we’ll hit those goals in time.
In this episode, I cover:
- Emphasizing the importance of taking action, even if it’s messy.
- Recording on her phone now is better than waiting for the perfect setup
- Recap of the call, covering Instagram audits, industry updates, and mindset issues.
- Introducing the "Pass or Fail" mentality in business.
- Explanation of the black-and-white thinking many coaches face.
- Comparison to all-or-nothing thinking in fitness and dieting.
- A story illustrating unrealistic relationship expectations.
- Drawing parallels between relationship expectations and business outcomes.
- Highlighting the importance of consistent social media posting as relationship building.
- Emphasizing that business success is a process, not a one-time event.
- Encouraging listeners to overcome the pass-or-fail mindset.
- Final thoughts on persistence and consistent action in business.

In this episode of the *Best Coach Ever Podcast*, we tackle the all-too-familiar drama of clients flaking on their plans. You know the drill—clients ghosting your check-ins, skipping workouts, or just not showing up. But before you start doubting your coaching skills, let’s get real: client inconsistency is totally normal. Life happens, and even the most dedicated clients can get sidetracked.
I don’t shy away from keeping it real, sharing my own struggles with sticking to a fitness routine. Yes, even coaches have their off days! This is your reminder that you’re not alone—everyone has their ups and downs, and it’s part of the journey.
The episode serves up some hot tips on designing programs that don’t just work for the super-motivated, but also for those who need a little extra push. Think of it as making the process smoother—cutting down on those tedious check-ins, simplifying the onboarding process, and tailoring workloads to match your clients' reality.
But here’s the kicker: most clients drop off around the 4-week or 7-8-week mark. So, what’s the move? Time to spice things up with fresh challenges and extra support to keep them hooked.
The episode wraps up with a strong reminder that client struggles are a natural part of the coaching game. You can help your clients stay on track and crush their goals by staying ahead of the curve and tweaking your programs.
In this episode, I cover:
- Clients often stop checking in or following through.
- Clients have other life priorities that can affect consistency.
- Ensure programs support clients who lack motivation.
- Lengthy check-ins can deter clients.
- Common drop-off points around the 4-week or 7-8-week mark.
- Clients may lose motivation after initial success.
- Coaches should be aware of common client struggles.
- Emphasize the importance of program design in supporting client success.

In Episode 128 of the "Best Coach Ever Podcast," we dive into the juicy benefits of embracing the summer slowdown for both personal well-being and business growth. Fresh from a six-week hiatus, I dish on how taking a break in July—a notoriously slow month for online sales and social media—was a game-changer. Coaches, it may be time to hit pause for a moment and recharge so you can crush it when fall starts.
The episode's main event? The power of personal branding. We spill the tea on why personal branding is your secret weapon. It's about crafting a public identity that screams your image, story, and place in the community. By dropping personal anecdotes, flaunting your values, and showcasing your unique traits, you can connect with your audience on a whole new level. Too many coaches miss the mark, ending up with content that's super flat.
But fear not, I am here with practical tips to spice up your personal brand. Think identifying your lifestyle pillars and weaving in your personal stories and values into your content. It's all about embracing your quirks and sharing more of the real you online to build a loyal, engaged fanbase. In this episode of "The Best Coach Ever Podcast," we tackle the hot debate: Should online coaches focus their social media efforts on TikTok or Instagram? We have a no-nonsense discussion of these two powerhouse platforms. Does TikTok have explosive follower growth? Absolutely! But don't be fooled—those followers don't always translate into quality leads. TikTok users are often younger, hungry for entertainment, and not exactly ready to splurge on high-ticket coaching services. Meanwhile, Instagram users are more serious, more engaged, and way more likely to become paying clients.
Next, we don’t hold back on the importance of understanding platform-specific behaviors. On TikTok, it's all about that influencer vibe—think lifestyle and personal branding content. But if you're aiming for direct client acquisition, Instagram's your best bet with targeted marketing strategies that hit the mark. The verdict? You’ll just have to listen!
Get ready to revamp your social media game with these savvy insights. This episode arms you with the strategies to dominate both platforms, attract top-notch leads, and skyrocket your revenue. Time to level up your coaching business and find your client magnet social media strategy!
In this episode, I cover:
0:03 - 2:15: TikTok Growth vs. Instagram Growth
-TikTok's rapid growth potential and sharing my own experiences of quickly amassing followers on the platform.
2:16 - 6:45: Quality of Leads
- That leads from TikTok often lack seriousness and commitment compared to those from Instagram.
6:46 - 10:10: Platform User Behavior
-TikTok users seek entertainment and are more likely to purchase low-cost items, while Instagram users are more inclined to invest in services and coaching.
10:11 - 14:20: Content Strategy Differences
-Effective content on TikTok focuses on lifestyle and personal branding rather than direct sales pitches or client transformations.
14:21 - 20:00: Strategic Recommendations
-While TikTok can complement an overall social media strategy, my recommendation is that online coaches prioritize Instagram for client acquisition due to its proven track record in converting followers to paying clients.
20:01 - End: Final Thoughts
- The focus should be on leveraging the strengths of each platform to create a comprehensive and effective social media strategy.
