    33:10 Closing.
    3 Main Ideas
    1. Letting the Spouse Run Their Own Business
Brian confesses that one of the hardest things for him to do is to back away and let Ashley do her own thing with her business. It's not often that two entrepreneurs get together in a marriage, but when it happens, each partner may find it difficult to zip their mouth about their ideas.
Sometimes it's better to let your partner make decisions for his or her business, and only state your view when it's requested. Aim to limit voicing your opinions on the other's business and try to limit discussing details that pop into your head, even though it's tempting.
    2. Why Both Details and Vision are Necessary for Entrepreneurs
There are two ways to describe a person's work personality: They are either the visionary person that can come up with ideas, or they are the disciplined worker that gets tasks done.
Often, entrepreneurs are the visionary ones. However, they will likely stay dreamers, unless they put their ideas into action. So, the beginning stages of business usually require that the entrepreneur have both qualities.
If you have dreams and you execute them well, it's only a matter of time before you can hire someone to carry out day-to-day tasks.
    3. Have Passion in Business
Like Brian says, it's important to have passion because when you're tired of dealing with all the problems, you'll need strength to keep going.
If you don't have solid reasoning for why you're doing your business and why you must pull through, you may throw in the towel when things get rough.
Brian suggests that it's much easier to deal with all the small details and frustrations that are bound to happen if you have a firm understanding of why you're doing everything you're doing.
Know beforehand whether your business is what you want, and make sure you put your personality into your brand so that you can stay interested and focused for years to come.

  • #78: The most highly recommended thing to do to see progress in your dental practice with Korey Korfiatis
Hey Dental Marketer Tribe! I hope you are enjoying your week! I apologize for the lack of uploads this week, I am recovering from the flu and at the same time I started Invisalign so I had to extract some wisdom teeth as well and couldn't even talk... so yeah.... had a rough week but managed to upload this very special episode!
In this episode I interview the very amazing Korey Korfiatis, the owner of Legwork. Now, Legwork is a marketing software tool! If you wonder what that is Legwork helps your dental practice with reminders, referrals, obtaining more reviews and helping with reactivations, and SO much more! Korey Talks with me and tells me about how he started the company and what he has seen increase dental practice profits.
We also talk about the best piece of advice he has to share... which honestly is an AMAZING piece of advice. It seems so simple but if you apply it TODAY then it will happen and you will see tremendous progress in your dental practice. What happens is we start to apply what we learn but then "life" happens and we tend to forget and let things slide, so don't be consistent with the advice Korey has for you.

HOW TO GET NEW PATIENT LEADS IMMEDIATELY

It's episode 77 of The Dental Marketer Podcast! In this episode I speak with the master of reviews... Dr. Leonard Tau! Such a fun and great guy and so much knowledge was shared in this episode. Some key things I learned was what exactly to do with bad reviews. Some times we think we need to reply to bad reviews and sometimes we think we should just leave it alone and it will eventually die down... but will it?! Reviews these days can really break us mentally and break our business physically! Think about it, would you take your child (or dog) to a practice with horrible reviews?! I wouldn't! So what should we do when we receive a horrible review?

Another pointer I learned in this interview was, which review website, or third-part website, matters the most! Sometimes we are trying to get reviews all on our Facebook page, or maybe Yelp.. but where do the reviews have the most impact? In this episode Dr.Leonard Tau reveals where you should send all your happy patients to leave reviews and why!

Dr. Tau’s focus is on general, cosmetic, implant and reconstructive dentistry. He is certified in Invisalign®, which are virtually invisible aligners that move your teeth. After more than 18 years in dentistry, Dr. Tau remains passionate about offering patients the latest in technology, which you will notice upon entering the office. Above all, Dr. Tau’s primary focus is patient comfort through painless dentistry.

Dr. Leonard Tau was honored to be recently chosen as one of Philadelphia’s Top Dentists by his peers in Philadelphia Magazine. What sets his Northeast Philadelphia dental office apart from other Philadelphia dentists is the time he takes with each individual to understand their needs and goals. Dr. Tau’s restorative practice provides services which include filling replacement with non-metal alternatives and a full range of cosmetic treatments. The cosmetic procedures include: KoR® Deep Bleaching, cosmetic bonding, porcelain veneers, implant dentistry and same day non-metal crowns and bridges with CEREC. Dr. Tau’s commitment to state-of-the-art dentistry ensures you receive the highest level of care, both today and tomorrow.

  • M.M.M. – EIGHT- Senior Citizen Homes/ Retirement Living
They Dental Marketer Tribe! We are on episode 8 of the Monday Morning Marketing Series. I really hope you are doing at least one of these tactics, I know some of you guys started off strong but then became "too busy"... well this type of marketing (Ground Marketing) requires consistency. Actually every single marketing tactic, whether it is Ground, Digital, Paper, Radio, whatever, requires consistency. So I know you guys can do it and be consistent! For those of you who are being consistent.. keep up the great work! You are getting amazing results (I know you are because you are sending me the results! )

In this episode we talk about how you can get inside the senior citizen homes and set up a seminar/ lunch & learn/ booth and talk to the residents about your dental practice and dental health concerns that the residents have! Trust me each resident has a concern! This tactic is so simple and yet extremely effective, I have never received a rejection or a "no" using this tactic. And if that weren't enough I have a video on exactly how I do this tactic in the show notes below!

  • #76: Talking with the founder of GOBY, Improving Patient Experience, & Your Target Customer with Benjamin Goldberg
We are at episode 76 of The Dental Marketer Podcast. In this episode I talk with the amazing Ben Goldberg from GOBY. GOBY is an amazing product, if you are familiar with the products like Ipsy, FIVE FOUR, and Dollar Shave Club, then you will be familiar and LOVE the product GOBY, especially if you are using an electric toothbrush (which lets face it.... almost everyone is using it now). We talk about how he had the idea to create GOBY and what caused him to create it, what was the pain point that he experience to say "hey, I'm tired of this... something or someone should create this... and that's going to me!"

We also dive into Ben's entrepreneurial journey and how it applies to you (especially if you are dental practice owner). One thing I loved that he pointed out is that he makes sure the Patient Experience is first and superb! That's where great marketing comes in. Think about it, if your patients don't even feel like they are having an experience in your dental practice then you are either doing NO marketing or your marketing is just that bad. You have to have an experience and it has to be unique and remarkable in order for the patient to be a fan.

Goby was founded by two friends who were frustrated by today’s oral care offerings. Like many people, Ben's visits to the dentist were far from enjoyable, and he begrudgingly bought an overpriced electric toothbrush, searching for an upgrade.

Improvements were made, but new pain came with the egregious brush head replacement costs. Claire (known as Cavity Claire by her family as a kid) was also keen on improving her routine, but always felt priced out.

  • M.M.M. -SEVEN- Day Cares
Hey Dental Marketer Tribe! I hope everyone is off to a great week, as you can tell from this episode I am still recovering from being super sick for almost a whole week! I don't remember the last time I was this sick for this long! Anywho, in this episode we discuss a tactic that I personally love to use and it is always my back-up or go to strategy when I need an influx of new patients fast! That is .... DAY CARE!

This is a great "Back 2 School" type of marketing strategy because you are not even targeting the schools, you are targeting the children and their families after they are out of school. Day cares are a great way to set up something. In this episode I discuss how we can set up something where you can not only just talk to the children but also possibly perform an physical exam and talk to the parents. Listen to the example/ case study I talk about and how you can do it as well. This is a great strategy that I would LOVE to see everyone apply!

Don't forget.... if you are interested in having your employee or dental practice become fantastic Ground Marketers than feel free to book a FREE 15 minute consultation with me.

58:44 Connect with Ashley on Facebook or Instagram, especially if you’re doing a startup so you can mastermind together and help each other out.

    3 Main Ideas

    1. Does Online Appointment Booking Work?

Everyone loves online booking, but does it hurt business? Both Ashley and Michael discuss the drawbacks of not having personal contact with clients. She also brings up that an easy-to-get appointment could also mean that it is easy to cancel.

It’s a standard issue now that we’re in the age of the internet. Taking away human interaction could mean loss of sales, so it’s a delicate balance that all businesses need to master.

What are your experiences with online appointment booking? Does it work?

    2. Hiring is a Huge Step in Opening a Dental Practice

Ashley says that a resume doesn’t tell you much about a person, and she’s right.

  • #75: Unlock The PPO, Teams, Numbers, and all about dental insurance with Lisa Weber
Episode 75 is live and it is amazing! We discuss topics all about insurance! So many times when we are starting our first ever dental practice we my think "hey it's best to accept every single the of PPO insurance... right?" But is it really? Sometimes, we discount our services WAY too soon with accepting all kinds of PPO insurances and don't ever see the bigger picture. Remember PPO insurances are just another form of marketing, my wonderful guest explains it very well. It's like saying "would you want to have a permanent coupon out there that people (possibly a large majority) can use whenever with no expiration date? Something to really think about huh!

My guest, Lisa Weber from Unlock The PPO, discusses ALL about these scenarios and situations and she explains something really important that every dentist should know.... which is their NUMBERS. Sometimes you know how much your mailers cost, digital marketing cost, you may even know how much your front office pens cost monthly, but many dentists have no clue about the fees and discounts that they are giving due to accepting certain PPO's and so much more! So please tune in and listen closely as Lisa Weber drops some serious knowledge!

Lisa became a full partner with Unlock the PPO in early 2011 by creating and expanding the negotiations wing of the company. Lisa had a finance and insurance management history prior to her 13 years experience in the dental industry. Her clinical and dental management background gives her a comprehensive perspective when negotiating fee schedules. Lisa has a dogged determination to negotiate the best possible fee schedules for dentists who are adding a carrier or may be deciding whether to remain a participating provider with an existing carrier.  She has focused on creating relationships with mutual respect with insurance representatives and understanding the parameters they have to work within.  This understanding of a complicated system ultimately allows dentists to get the best ROI on their investment.  Lisa has also spent extensive time to create services that are invaluable to the start-up segment of dentistry to make the transition into practice ownership simplified when signing PPO contracts.  Lisa is the director of our Start Up Practice division as well as overseeing negotiations and oversees our Virginia office.
