IT IS EPISODE 50!!!! What what??
On today's episode I am breaking down who can give you a diagnosis, what to expect during a diagnosis evaluation, what you need to bring with you to the evaluation, and what the doctor is looking at. Of course keep in mind that every evaluation is different per the country, state, doctor and potential ADHDer, so this is all a basic overview of what you should know and should be taken as educational information and not personal advice.

Today's episode is all about talking about being able to listen to your needs, especially when life gets crazy or a huge traumatic experience forces you to evacuate your home. And who better to talk to this about than Savannah Cohn over at The Lily Pad Network!?
Savannah is a twenty-something who was obsessed with climbing the ranks in public accounting as a CPA, but then quickly realized she wanted MORE. While right now she works in public accounting, her real passion is building her podcast, The Lily Pad Network, and that community. The Lily Pad Network podcast is for the woman who doesn't know what her next thing is but is working towards figuring it out. She is DAMN grateful for where she is today and the education so far, but she is also looking long term for something AMAZING!

Today's episode is all about Imposter Syndrome which I like to think as a little guy in a trench coat, a black hat, and oddly shaped black sunglasses who roams around my head in the shadows most days until he decides to pop up and surprise me with a nice present filled with doubt.
What is actual Imposter Syndrome? It's doubting your abilities and feeling like a fraud, when you really aren't one.
There are 5 types: The Perfectionist; The Superhero; The Expert; The Natural Genius; and The Soloist.
This episode covers each types, gives potential causes and gives tips on how to combat your inner Imposter.

On today's episode we are talking about personal development advice you get from podcasts, books, or videos and how that advice while good intentioned can sometimes be ableist and damaging to people who aren't neurotypical or who have some mental condition.
Show Notes:
Q: What is ableism?
A: Ableism is discrimination and social prejudice against people with disabilities and/or people who are perceived to be disabled.
How one-size fits all personal development messages can affect people with ADHD or other mental conditions:
1) Make people feel like there’s something inherently wrong with them because they can’t “Just do it”
2) Pushes people to do things in one way instead of allowing for numerous ways
3) Doesn’t allow people to be in tune with their intuitions or needs
4) Doesn’t take into account that people are diverse

Back in December Josh surprised me with a ring... an engagement ring to be exact. He's on today's episode to talk about how he managed to plan a surprise engagement without me noticing, how he popped the question and then we talk about all things wedding planning (at least the start of wedding planning).
It's not your typical ADHD content, but there are some very ADHD moments in these stories! Plus it's sometimes fun to share other aspects of life because we are more than our ADHD!
