Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria is something that haunts a lot of ADHDers' brains. I like to think of it as a little ghost that boos me when I'm rejected or think I'm going to be rejected. It's tiny little "BOO" is mighty triggering my nervous system to go into hyperdrive. If you want to learn more about this little ghost I like to call RSD, this episode is for you.

...no we aren't chatting about having someone stand in for you when your ADHD paralysis kicks in. Today's episode is all about one thing I find that helps me get things done when I just can't seem to find motivation or when my time-blindness kicks in and that's having someone either do the task with me or be in the same area.
And to help you out (in case you don't have anyone who can come do things with you) I'm releasing some new body-doubling videos over on Instagram to help you get through the mundane tasks of life.. laundry anyone?

This is the first episode of the a new series entitled: "So you have a _______________ with ADHD..."
On this episode we are talking about friendships and ADHD from what you should know about your friend with ADHD to how you can help support your friends with ADHD. Here is what is covered in today's episode:
What You Should Know:
1) Your ADHD Friends aren't ignoring you
2) Your ADHD Friends don't think you are boring; they do care about what you are saying
3) Your ADHD Friends may over commit when their energy levels are high and cancel when those energy levels get low
4) Your ADHD Friends are more susceptible to Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria than others and may overreact to perceived, real, or hypothetical rejections.
How You Can Help Support:
1) Be gentle with your ADHD Friends
2) Send friendly reminders to your ADHD Friends
3) Ask your ADHD Friends where their brain has wandered off to during conversations
4) Give them enough details about an event to ease their hypothetical rejections or assurance that you aren't rejecting Your ADHD Friends to make sure they know you aren't rejecting them.
5) Let them know what events are important to you and don't take your ADHD Friend's energy levels personally
6) Communicate your needs in a gentle way.
