Episode 23
In this episode, I talk with Katie Lang, the founder of Soberlove, an online community for men and women who have been affected by addiction.
Katie shares her honest account of her involvement with the Church of Scientology and what led her to recovery from drugs and alcohol. Katie is open and brave in telling her story and will inspire so many by shedding light on both the Church and addiction.
Katie created the Soberlove community to be a source of love and positivity and to provide support in a caring, non-judgemental way. Katie's passion is helping others come to embrace and love the kind of life that sobriety offers and her Facebook community is a bright light in my day and so many others.

In this Sitch on Saturday, the situation I talk about is my own experience with brain fog and fuzzy thinking during perimenopause and menopause. I share a story from the day I decided to take my health more seriously and use nutrition and exercise to change my foggy brain and become a health advocate for myself.
I share The Wisdom of Menopause, by Dr. Christiane Northrup and some of her solutions to change how your brain functions in menopause. Her book, Goddesses Never Age, changed the way I look at aging and my healthy - a game changer for me!

In this episode, I talk with Money and Recovery Coach, Linda Parmar. We started the episode strong by chatting about perimenopause at a younger age than most people think is possible which was a bonus because we were only going to talk about money and recovery.
Linda shares her money story and her story of how she found sobriety from alcohol and now leads a life coaching others through their recovery. Linda talks about how our money habits start when we are kids and how we can change money story at any age to reach financial recovery.
I also share some personal information during this episode of my struggles with money and how I handle it today. It was very enlightening and I know you will learn so much from Linda.
From Linda:
My life and addiction led me to a life of financial chaos. With my recovery, I learned that alcohol and drugs were just a symptom of negative patterns and behaviors. This is the same for money. A few years into recovery I was ready to look at these patterns and behaviors and I am now living my financial truth and working through my financial goals successfully.
I am ready to support women in recovery with their financial recovery. Money is hard. Money brings a lot of shame and guilt attached to it, much like addictions do. I specialize in looking at your financial picture and coaching you through a process that will help you heal from your money story and learn to love yourself even more.

In this Sitch on Saturday, the situation I talk about is what being sober means to me and how I have stepped into my authentic self. I also share about my recovery and loving myself without apologizing. It is not always easy but I practice self-love and confidence daily and I've come very far in my quest to honor myself and my body.
How do you feeling about being sober or how will you feel when you quit drinking?
