Hook:
Eating Disorders have the highest rates of mortality amongst the mental health disorders and affect 1 in 20 Australians.
You may never think that your child, teenager or daughter has an eating disorder, but the truth is it can happen to anyone.
Take myself for example, I was raised in a loving family, had a good job, was going to uni, had no friendship issues and still got an eating disorder. I kept it a secret for almost a decade so don’t assume that this cannot be your own child.
Today's episode will discuss the 5 red flags to look out for and what you can do to help a teen or someone you suspect may be struggling with an Eating Disorder
@00:52.83 Eating Disorders are extremely serious, complex patterns of behavior that are often viewed with stigma and superficial understanding.

Trigger warning, this episode is going to discuss what might be considered graphic period details. If you don’t like hearing about the menstrual cycle, please skip this episode.
If any men are listening, let me know, I would love to know if males listen to this podcast and if this episode in particular was helpful for you in understanding the women in your life.
This episode came about from the women I work closely with in my Food Freedom group. Each week, they submit logs to me and I get a close look into their personal life. Something I noticed these women have in common are horrible periods and heavy bleeding. I'm not saying every woman with ADHD has this, but the majority of women in my FF program have ADHD and those who do have reported extremely bad periods.
