Meet our friend Kate. She's that cute friend that can fit in Anita's pocket but will pack a hefty throat punch if warranted. Kate's husband, Jeff, died by suicide at his place of work in 2024 after ingesting something called Kratom. In this episode, Kate shares what happened, what she wants people to understand about kratom, and the complex mental health struggles Jeff faced.

This is a raw conversation about what it means to be the one left behind after suicide: the shock, the guilt, the anger, the love, and the questions that can linger for years. Kate speaks with honesty about her grief, the grief of her two young children, and how she's learning to live big.
