01.美国交友软件Tinder，出了诈骗王The Tinder Swindler

它是2022年2月，Netflix刚出的a true crime documentary /ˌdɑ:kjuˈmentri/ 一部真实的犯罪纪录片，但是它太引人入胜了，都不像documentary，甚至比电影都好看。

It’s so worth watching, and the English is easy.

非常值得一看，而且英语表达简单，很适合学英文。

片名The Tinder Swindler中：

Tinder is an online dating social media app，一个约会社交软件，跟非诚勿扰，或者陌陌一样。

Swindler /ˈswɪndlər/ 诈骗犯。

所以，这部纪录片的中文名字是：《诈骗王》。

在Twitter，Ins还有YouTube上面，这部crime documentary的评论都已经炸了。全欧美人民在热议。

02.The Story of the Documentary 故事梗概

它讲的是a true story，一个叫Simon Leviev的人，用a false identity假身份，谎称自己是钻石王国的heir（接班人），在美国社交软件tinder上，靠跟不同女性约会，诈骗1000万美金。

首先,他会用各种奢侈品来轰炸他的dates：

private jet trips私人飞机旅行

5 star hotels 五星级酒店

luxury bags 奢侈品包包

*heir /er/ n. 接班人

*date  n. 约会对象

*shower sb. with sth. 大量地给某人某物

*luxury n. 奢侈品

他的dates很容易就沦陷了。

在俘获了女孩的芳心和信任后after charming these women and gaining their love and trust，他就会告诉她们：he is in trouble（陷入了麻烦），需要borrow money。

好典型的PUA套路！

PUA（在精神上控制一个人）就是这样，：

第一步：建立一个人设，use a false identity。

第二步：shower his dates with gifts，用各种礼物来甜宠对方。

第三步：颠覆自己的人设，说自己离奇的经历和当下的困境，展现the vulnerable side，脆弱的一面，以此激发女性的保护欲，然后对方就开始反过来为他付出金钱甚至生命。

被他欺骗的女生，有美国的，还有欧洲的，很多都是putting themselves in debt，负债累累。

这个人在Tinder上，全球一共诈骗了（swindled）10 million dollars，1千万美金。

最后，因为fraud-related crimes（欺诈罪），he was arrested and charged 他被逮捕并被指控了。

但是，据透露，这个罪犯现在living as a "free man" in Israel（在以色列以“自由人”的身份生活），而且还是和新女友继续着his luxury lifestyle。

It’s blowing my mind! 三观简直都要被震碎了！

这就是整个片子最刷三观的部分the most shocking part：

罪犯逍遥法外he is still walking free，但被他骗的那些女孩却要在恐惧中还债still paying their debt.

03.The Fun Reactions 在西方网站引发热议

这部片子在上映后，it has taken over social media，在社交媒体引发热议。

在Twitter上，there has been numerous reactions，讨论爆了。

A:首先是火了一波memes(表情包)

其中一个meme是：

图片上写着：那个说会还你钱的朋友

下面配图就是诈骗王Simon抽着雪茄的照片，并配文：

I’ll pay you back. 我会还你的。

片中一位女主叫Ayleen, 被网友戏称the real MVP。

MVP stands for most valuable player(最优选手）. 

Ayleen是诈骗王的其中一个女友，当诈骗王向女孩借钱时，她非常机智地让他送来了一些可以卖的东西（some of his designer items so she could sell it）。

最搞笑的是，当他们stopped contacting each other，女孩仍然可以卖他的东西，稳赚不赔。

这个meme也火了，Ayleen很开心地仰着头，说：Yes,I’m still selling his things.

还有一个表情丰富的meme：

meme里是一个女人看这部纪录片的各种表情。

1. Twosday!  国外戏称2022-02-22为“多2日”

今天是2022年2月22日，周二，外国网友在很早以前就开始期盼今天了：

而且，还给这个2很多的日子，取了个超二的名字：Twosday !  跟Tuesday还是谐音梗！

这一天里有太多的巧合了：

the 22nd day of February，2022（2022年2月的第2天）

falls on a Tuesday（刚好是周二）

所以被称作“Twosday”：twos =two的复数

在老外眼里，还有Other interesting dates 其他好玩的日期：

45年1月23日——1/23/45

11年11月11日——11/11/11

06年的2月4日——2/4/06 

但对老外们来说，今天还是最特别的：

日期里有很多的“twos”,而且恰好是周二, 发音和Tuesday（美/ˈtu:zdeɪ/）都一样，简直就是巧合到家了。

2. 原来, 这叫palindrome !

外媒纷纷科普，像今天22/02/2022的日期，叫作palindrome（/ˈpælɪndroʊm/），回文。

palindrome是指it can be read the same way backward and forward（正着读、反着读都是一样的）.

很多人不理解2022-02-22正反念不太一样呀，那是因为，你需要了解西方国家的日期标注习惯：

每个国家有各自标注日期的习惯，中国是“年月日”，西方有的是“日月年”，有的是“月日年”

比如：

加拿大英国：dd/mm/yy   22 - 02- 22

法文： dd/mm/yyyy   22-02-2022

美国：  mm-dd-yy   02- 22 - 22

但是，西方国家比较通用的还是：dd /mm /yyyy（日月年），22 02 2022 ，it can be read the same way backward and forward.

英语中有很多palindrome ，比如：

Bob，Ada，Eve，Hannah，noon，did

汉语中也有palindrome，比如：

僧游云隐寺  &  寺隐云游僧

人过大佛寺  &  寺佛大过人

其实今天这个日期，不仅仅是palindrome（回文），而且还是ambigram （对称字，双向图），就是反过来读也是一样的（reads the same upside-down)

冬奥会开幕式上，习主席的名字牌（name card）上，名字前有两个英文大写字母：H. E. 

这是什么意思呢？

今天就要来给大家普及一些国际社会上的称谓知识，非常实用！

01. 尊敬的阁下H.E.

It is actually an abbreviation. 是一个缩写abbreviation/əˌbriːviˈeɪʃn/，用一种shorter way（简短的方式）来说什么东西。

英语当中经常会出现缩写，比如：it is=it’s，United States=US。

习主席名字前面的H.E.，是His Excellency的缩写，表示“阁下”，用以尊称某些显赫尊贵、有地位的人士。

His Excellency可以用来尊称（a polite way to address）officials of very high rank高级别的官员，比如ambassadors（大使）or governors（州长）。

比如说：

His Excellency, the French ambassador 法国大使阁下

His Excellency, Xi JinPing 习主席阁下

例句：His Excellency the President will be waiting for you in the hall. 

总统阁下将在大厅里等着你。

H.E.不光是His Excellency的缩写，也是Her Excellency的缩写，可以用来尊称女士。

对于这些缩写，大家应该了解一下，因为it is usedinternationally在国际范围内被广泛应用。

比如，在2016年杭州G20峰会时，各国领导人的名牌上，都有H.E.，His Excellency。

如：

俄罗斯总统普京的name card是：H.E. Vladimir Putin尊敬的普京阁下

当时的美国总统奥巴马的name card是：H.E.Barack Obama尊敬的奥巴马阁下

02. 皇室成员Majesty& Highness

对于皇家成员（the royal family），却不用H.E.称呼。而且，虽然都是尊称皇室成员，陛下与王子、公主等的称呼也不同。

l  称呼王，使用Majesty（/ˈmædʒəsti/），陛下。

比如，称呼英国女王伊丽莎白，就要使用Majesty，这个词通用于任何王和皇上。

Majesty means “Kingship”. majesty就是“王权”。

这个词用法很简单，有两种用法。

1. 当着王的面，跟王直接对话，称呼陛下为your Majesty。

比如说：Yes,your Majesty！遵命陛下！

2. 如果以第三人称来称呼王，称呼陛下为her Majesty或his Majesty。

比如，《甄嬛传》里皇后对剪秋说：

What? His Majesty is sleeping alone again? 

什么？皇上又自己睡下了？

《狮子王》中，有一句台词是：

His Majesty has requested an audience /ˈɔːdiəns/. 陛下要求你觐见。

l  称呼王子、公主、太子、亲王、格格等，使用Highness（/ˈhaɪnəs/），殿下。

比如查理王子Prince Charles，就可以尊称为His Royal Highness Prince Charles. 

This goes for all the other princes or princessesas well. 公主、王子的称呼格式都是一样的。

比如：

还珠格格：Her Royal Highness Princess Huanzhu.

果郡王允礼：His Royal Highness Yunli.

即使日常生活中见不到high ranked people地位如此之高的人，但是新闻上或者英文影视剧里看到、听到这些敬称的缩写，能明白这些文化，也是非常酷的一件事情。

03. 被低估了的Mr. , Ms. , Mrs.

Mister (Mr.), Miss(Ms.for unmarried women) ，Misses (Mrs. for married women)这三个词不仅仅只是先生、小姐、夫人的意思，在英文中，它们有更加广泛的用法。

在美国或法国，可以直接称呼总统Mr.the President。

其实不光是称呼政府人员，在学校称呼老师也是，广泛使用Mr. , Ms.和Mrs.。

举几个例子：

*比如老师的last name（姓）是Peters，你可以称呼他为Mr. Peters。

*在一小席英文academy（学园）, 我们也是要求孩子们按照英语国家的方式来称呼老师，比如：Jerry老师姓An，孩子们称呼他为Mr. An。

除了Jerry老师，我们称呼其他老师为：

翩翩老师——Ms.Pianpian

Malle老师——Ms. Malle

Selah老师——Ms. Selah

*对于已婚，丈夫的姓是Blackson的女士，我们称呼她Mrs. Blackson。

04. 彭女士名字前的MME.

今年冬奥会上，不仅习大大，彭女士名字前面也有一个缩写，MME.。

MME.也是一个abbreviation（/əˌbri:viˈeɪʃn/缩略词），是法语单词Madame（英语madam）的缩写。

Madame means Miss.女士，比如，居里夫人就是Madame Curie。

奥委会用的是法语madame的缩称MME.，而不是英语madam的缩称，这很有意思。

这可能是因为前主席（former president）和国际奥委会的创始人（founder of the international Olympic Committee）是一名法国人顾拜旦。

一席为大家整理出来6条非常实用的发音技巧，掌握这6条技巧，英文发音瞬间会高级、地道很多，建议大家反复听音频学习、练习。

1. th

传统的发音书通常把th音称作“咬舌音”，但其实，native speaker发这个音的时候，通常是不咬舌尖的，因为收舌尖的时候会影响发其他的音。

一席发音技巧：把舌尖抵到上牙齿的后面，气流从舌头两边发出。

/θ/清辅音:把舌尖抵到上牙齿的后面，气流从舌头两边发出。

例词：

three  thank you south  something  Catherine

/ð/浊辅音

发音时，同样是舌尖抵到上牙齿的后面，口腔位置保持不变，声带振动来发音。

例词：

there  that with  mother  father weather

2. 卷舌音/r/

很多人卷舌音发不好听，发得不饱满。

一席发音技巧：先将元音发饱满，然后再加上/r/这个卷舌音。

例词：

car  art bird  earth  for  order

*易读错的词：

door中的oo，很多人会读成/ɔ:/。

一席发音技巧：把oo发/əʊ/音，door这个词立马就会变得饱满、地道。

3. /r/

很多人容易发成汉语拼音的r。

一席发音技巧：发音时，舌尖往后卷。

例词：

red  room right  road（right road）

4. /ʌ/

容易把它发成汉语拼音的a，音发得很大。

一席发音技巧：想象别人打了一下你的小肚子，然后发出这个音。

例词：

but  up（get up）  us（help us）   hug  bus（take the bus）  nut 

5. /v/&/w/

/v/咬唇音

很多人发音时没有咬下唇，因为汉语里没有这个音。

一席发音技巧：

上牙齿轻咬下唇，感受嘴唇的振动，当感觉到下唇有点痒的时候，那这个音就发对了。可以练习一下摩托车的声音/v//v//v/……

例词：five

/w/圆唇音

有人发这个音时会咬下唇。

一席发音技巧：

把嘴巴嘟起来发这个音。

例词：water

对比着读下面5组单词：

vine   wine

vet    wet

vest   west

verse   worse

6. /t/

有人单词末尾的/t/发得太重，不好听，而且影响语流，读句子不连贯。

一席发音技巧：

发音轻一点，/t/只出气即可，想象钟表的指针在/t//t//t/地走。

除了/t/，像/p//k/等这样的爆破音，发音时都要轻一点，单词尾音不要太重。

每年的情人节，一些人会scratch their heads绞尽脑汁地想，送什么礼物给significant other另一半。

今天我们聊一聊，英语国家中，网友们收到的奇葩情人节礼物the weirdest gifts people have received on Valentine’s Day。

1.     “A T-shirt with a picture of my boyfriend and on the back a poem of how awesome and sweet he was. ”

这个女孩收到一件T恤，前面印着男友的照片，后面是一首诗a poem，男朋友赞美自己how awesome and sweet he was是多么帅气，暖心。

这样的T恤，这个女孩应该不会wear it in public穿出去。

2.     “My ex gave me seeds that he took out of his pocket. He said he was allergic to flowers so I could grow my own. ”

这个女孩说：前男友从兜里掏出了些种子took out of his pocket，然后说他对花过敏he was allergic to flowers，所以让女孩自己种grow her own.

一.Reading Education for Children in English-Speaking Countries

英语国家儿童阅读教育

Reading is a very important part of American children’s education and childhood. 

重视小朋友纸质书阅读的能力the ability of reading paper books.

孩子们被鼓励to read in school and at home，by themselves and with their parents（自己读以及和父母共读）。

Reading aloud is important. 大声朗读很重要。

There are often charity events and library events.经常有鼓励孩子阅读的慈善活动或者图书馆活动。

一、The feelings about Chinese New Year对中国新年的感受

Jordania arrived in China on December 13, 2019，正好赶上the time of COVID outbreaking疫情爆发。

原本是so excited to experience the Lunar New Year，但由于疫情，the whole country was on lockdown（封城）。

今年是Jordania在中国的third Lunar New Year，但她还没有celebrate it properly（正儿八经地过一次春节），一直在想象着，how the Lunar New Year was celebrated before COVID ever happened（疫情爆发前，中国新年是什么样的）。

二、New Year's Customs in America美国的新年习俗

l  go through the old things and the things they no longer want or can no longer fit辞旧迎新，扔掉旧衣服以及不合适，或者不想要的东西

l  The family comes together and have a meal together.家人团聚。
