Dr. Betty Murray joins me today to share lots of new information! We discuss how changes in estrogen- both too much during perimenopause and not enough after menopause, lead to metabolic changes in the cells that slow your metabolism. We get into how the genetics that control estrogen detoxification may lead to weight gain and risk for diabetes, obesity, and cancer, how menopause interferes with the key cellular fat switch, and the foods that turn that fat switch on. Betty also shares her three diet rules that may need to be broken to lose weight and keep it off for life.
Three diet rules for losing weight:

Childhood trauma is often stored in our bodies, starting in the first year of our lives. It doesn’t even have to be a hugely traumatic experience - it could even come from a child’s mother. Dr. Aimie Apigian joins us to talk about how childhood trauma affects our long-term health conditions and how we can accelerate the healing process to reclaim our health.

Through her personal experiences, she has found we all live compromised due to stored trauma in our bodies.
