This week, I had the pleasure of chatting with my friend and client Alex Long, a registered dietitian who is passionate about helping women heal their relationship with food and their bodies. In this episode, Alex opens up so vulnerably about her own journey through an eating disorder, PCOS, and autoimmune issues, and how she's used the power of food and somatic healing to get her health back on track. We dive deep into the role of attachment theory and early imprints when it comes to our relationship with nourishment, and Alex shares some super practical tips for moving away from diet culture and learning to trust your intuition around food. Whether you struggle with disordered eating or just want to have a healthier, more joyful relationship with what you put in your body, I know you're going to get so much value from this conversation.
About Alex:
Alex is a Registered Dietitian who is passionate about helping women heal their relationship with food and their bodies so that they can step into their new identity as the healthiest, happiest version of them and live the vibrant and fulfilling life that they were always meant to live. Alex has worked her whole life at trying to be thinnest/fittest/smartest person, which only spiraled her into an eating disorder, PCOS and an autoimmune disease. Now, after recovering from her ED, she's using the power of food and somatic healing to regulate her cycle, heal her gut and show people that it is safe to be your loudest, most authentic self, and that we are not meant to fit into a box that society wants us to fit in.
