In this week's episode Janeen continues the discussion of abuse with the physical aspect with therapists Kimberly Day and Alana Gordon.
What we have learned is, the victims aren't always aware that they are being physically abused as the affects of this type of abuse are not always manifest in really overt or overtly injurious type of incidents.
Kim and Alana discuss the questions what do you do if you are in a physically abusive relationship? How can you give yourself permission to reach out for help when you're married with a partner who is particularly prone to violence.
If you need help please reach out to the National Domestic Violence hotline. You can chat with someone online at https://www.thehotline.org/ or call 1-800-799-7233
This episode is from a listener question: How do I know if I am making progress? The hosts discuss their healing journey and looking back on where they were and how far they have come and discuss tools that you can use to gauge your own recovery and where you are at today?

The hosts discuss how to distinguish between forgiveness and trust, what trust may look like before a partner is in recovery and after recovery, and how long the process takes for husbands to rebuild it depending on where they are at.
Hosts discuss concepts from Brene Brown in her book "Daring Greatly".

Do you have inner turmoil and conflict around the concept of forgiveness?
In this episode, we talk about our experiences with forgiveness. We talk about why we chose to forgive, the benefits of forgiveness, how it is complicated in addiction, and what forgiveness is not. We know first hand how forgiveness is a delicate topic that creates confusion, pain, and even guilt for partners who’ve been betrayed and traumatized by the addict in their life.
We can relate, the pain is real.
So tune in today!
Therapists Maurice W. Harker, CMHC and Kimberly Day MHCA join Healing with WORTH host Naomi to discuss litmus tests to know the intent of your partner. They make the very important point that whether or not a partner is intending to harm and abuse, the pain is still real and needs to be addressed.

Did you know there is a way out of the drama triangle? In this episode, we reveal the secret and how it has made a huge impact on our recovery.
The Dreaded Drama Triangle (DDT)™ is a toxic interplay of three distinct roles; Persecutor, Victim, and Rescuer, which was first articulated by Dr. Stephen Karpman in the 1960s (and known as the Karpman Drama Triangle).
In this episode, we Briefly explain what the Drama Triangle is; why it is important in our recovery work; and how to get out.
