In this two-part episode, Katie begins the episode with her incredibly personal story of her IVF experience, sharing her struggles before conceiving her daughter, Iris. She shares all the details, and discusses the ups and the downs, as well as how she stayed strong and what inspired her strength during this difficult time.
In the second half of the episode, Katie interviews celebrity fitness trainer, Megan Roup. Megan and Katie met several years ago, Megan is the creator of the online fitness studio, The Sculpt Society. She was inspired to create her platform after she sensed a need for women to have workouts that are both approachable and easy to do at home, without the feeling of being cutthroat or exclusive
Megan discusses her new fertility workout series that specializes in creating a fitness routine for every stage of the fertility and IVF process. Both Katie and Megan remark on how important it is to be able to still move your body during these times, both for mental health and physical wellbeing. Megan has developed this program closely with a known fertility doctor as well as maternal psychiatrist to make sure every routine is built around support and community during this time in a woman’s life.
Megan is a firm believer in the motto “Commit to less, so you can be show up for more.” Even if you just workout for 10 minutes a day, it’s something to help you clear your mind and give your body the energy to start off on the right note.
The episode concludes with a Q&A from listeners.
Join Katie and Megan for an inspirational discussion on women’s reproductive health and the positive role that fitness adds.
