Perfectionism might seem like a great idea in theory (who doesn’t want to be the best at things and always deliver 100%?) however in practice it’s impossible to achieve, because nothing and nobody is perfect… so that means that perfectionist tendencies can lead to a lot of self-inflicted challenges that can have a negative impact on your wellbeing. This week I’m talking about how to manage perfectionism in a healthy way. So, let’s talk about mental health!

Self-respect matters because it shapes your self confidence and self belief, and the thing about respecting yourself is that if you don’t treat yourself with respect then it’s probably going to be pretty tough to get others to treat you in a respectful way. So how do you improve your self respect? Well, that’s what I’m talking about this week! So, let’s talk about mental health!

The past is a weird place. Why? Because it still exists in our mind but it doesn’t actually exist anymore… which means it both matters and doesn’t matter at the same time. Which, quite frankly, is enough to make your head explode! So how do you take the best of the past and combine that with the lessons you need to learn in order to be your best self today and tomorrow? Well, that’s what I’m talking about this week. So, let’s talk about mental health!

Joy is one of the loveliest of all human emotions in terms of how good it makes us feel about ourselves and about life in general... and the thing with finding joy is that while it can be influenced by external factors (like people and situations) it is 100% an inside job in terms of how you connect with it and how you feel it. And since you’re the one in control, you can choose to focus on joy even in the midst of trying times. How? Well, that’s what I’m talking about this week... so, let’s talk about mental health!

Death and mortality is not a topic to be feared and avoided, but one to be discussed and understood. Why? Because avoiding our mortality and pretending death isn't going to happen to each of us one day is actually damaging your mental health. So this week I’m talking about why making your peace with the subject of death and mortality matters for your mental health and, more importantly, how to understand and accept death and mortality. I know it’s a big topic, and potentially a difficult one for some of you, but bear with me because I’m going to explain how greater acceptance of your mortality can actually improve your mental health and overall wellbeing (plus how to do that!). So, let’s talk about mental health!

Genuine triggers (not just ‘I don't like that so I'm going to be difficult about it'!) are deeply rooted in past pain that still needs to be worked through, which can be confronting but will enable better self awareness and understanding. So how do you do that? Well, that’s what I’m talking about this week. In this episode I’ll cover what emotional triggers are, why understanding your triggers matters for your mental health, and how to manage your emotional triggers in a healthy way. So, let’s talk about mental health!
