On today's episode of Living Enneagram, my husband Kramer and I sat down together to talk about his Enneagram Type - the Type 5's! Kramer shares what goes on in his mind, what his needs and tendencies are, and how we used the knowledge of our Enneagram types to improve our marriage. We have done some hard work in this area because we are very opposite people!
We talk about the intentional work we've done over the last five years in our relationship to make our communication and marriage better overall. If you're an Enneagram Type 5, or you are wondering how to make your marriage work better with a deeper understanding of each other, this episode is for you! Plus, this is only Part 1 of our 2-part conversation, so stay tuned for next week's episode to hear the rest of our conversation!

Do you live your life with an inner-critic in your head, constantly telling you that you're not enough? That you could be doing better? That you'll never meet a certain standard?
Chances are, you're an Enneagram Type 1 like today's podcast guest, Emily Conley. Emily is a wife, mother, and business owner, and she's done a lot of work to get to a healthy place as a Type 1. I wanted to bring Emily on the podcast to share her journey of finding her Enneagram type, and how it has impacted her marriage, her parenting style, and her business!
Emily runs a YouTube channel and blogs at The Minimal-ish Mama, centered around decluttering your space, your schedule, and your soul. Her heart behind that is really to help moms of our generation learn how to thrive and not just survive - especially in these early years of motherhood.
I love that this is her job because that's exactly what the gift of the Type 1 is - the desire for excellence. And you're not ashamed of it! Emily reminds people that we don't have to just survive, which is something I hear a lot of people talking about with motherhood.

Have you ever heard someone start sharing their Enneagram wing and you have no idea what they're even talking about? You wonder what is a wing and how does that even impact your enneagram type?
Often times, people get confused when wings start coming up in conversations and there has been a lot of false understanding about wings. In this episode, I breakdown the basics of understanding your Enneagram type based on the wings itself. I tell you what wings are and I go over each type and what their wing looks like.

Do you ever have emotions within yourself that you have a hard time processing? Maybe you've had someone tell you that your emotions are too much or that you shouldn't trust them.
While we all need to keep our emotions in check, let me just tell you that your emotions are beautiful. God created you to be an emotional being and it's a shame for you to hide that.
Today on the podcast I have the privilege of interviewing Audrey Baily who is the founder of Brush and Barley. Audrey is a type 4 on the Enneagram and wings to a 5. It was so much fun to interview Audrey because she's is a wife, mom, business owner, and so much more!
As a type 4w5, her type tends to be more inward and reserved but it was fascinating to unfold her story and hear how she navigates her strengths to build the things she's building.

As Christ-followers, we're called to be selfless in all we do. So this brings up a question, "is the Enneagram selfish or is 'self-help' content selfish?"
The question continued to come up from followers and clients in my life so I knew I needed to record an episode to breakdown what selfishness and selflessness are. In our Christian world, we get this backward and so we are going straight to scripture to see what God thinks about feels about the topic of "self-help."
If you want clarity with the Enneagram and how it can align spiritually, then tune into this short episode to learn how this tool could help or harm your life!

I was recently asked, "what Enneagram type really struggles with imposter syndrome?" My answer to this question was, all of them.
Every single person can battle with imposter syndrome and if you don't know what this term means, I explain it at the very beginning of the episode! It's feeling like you aren't capable or qualified to do the task at hand. Here is the interesting thing though, we all may overcome imposter syndrome differently.
Based on your enneagram type, you can find freedom from this term when you realize how to battle and overcome!
Imposter syndrome isn't something to just leave alone, it's something to battle. If we continue to live in imposter syndrome and struggle to take action, we'll be stuck in fear. We won't take action in what we are called to do, and we'll struggle to act in confidence because we will believe the lie that we aren't good enough. We believe the lie that we don't have what it takes.
I'm passionate about helping you overcome this nasty lie because you do have what it takes. Tune into this episode to learn how to defeat imposter syndrome based on your enneagram type.

Whether or not you are a type 6 on the Enneagram, you will find this week's interview with Elizabeth McCravy to be incredibly insightful. Type 6 is the most common type on the Enneagram so chances are you know a type 6 in your world.
Elizabeth explains in detail what life is like as a type 6 on the Enneagram and helps us to understand the anxiety she faces on a daily basis. Elizabeth is a business owner in Nashville, TN and is thriving in life. We learn how she has managed her strengths and weaknesses to maximize the life she is living.
The type 6 is called the Loyalist and often fears fear itself. The only way to truly work through our weaknesses is through the strength of Christ. The enneagram helps us to understand our natural tendencies so that we can correct them and run straight to the cross.

Have you ever related with more than one type on the enneagram? You may not perfectly relate with all numbers, but you can see patterns and agree with different types. This happens very often!
The Enneagram focuses on our internal world and what is happening "behind the scenes." Because of this, different individuals can look the same externally, but be very different internally.
With this in mind, we focus on the core motivations of each enneagram type rather than their external behavior. When understanding the motivation of each type, it allows us to see the differences way more clearly.
A core motivation is made up of a core fear, desire, longing, and weakness. In this episode, we discuss all 9 types and the core motivation of each number.
This episode provides clarity and depth about each Enneagram type. I can't wait to hear what you think.
