As well as exploring our own personal experiences with moderation. This is an important and nuanced topic. See you here!

  • Christy Osborne: How to be Unashamedly You!
22/02/2021Present and Sober Podcast Episode 38Christy Osborne: How to be Authentically You!
This week's guest Christy Osborne is not only a great friend but a great coach to boot! On today's episode, we dive deep into authenticity and owning who you are - no matter how others react. For so many of us, this is a HUGE part of finding freedom from alcohol as we navigate the world of healthy boundaries and learning to trust ourselves again. Christy is full of energy and her contribution to the alcohol-free movement is beyond inspiring. Can't wait to see you there!

Christy is a Certified “This Naked Mind” Coach helping moms in their 30s and 40s examine their relationship with alcohol. Christy grew up in Los Angeles, but relocated to London in 2008 after completing law school and passing the California Bar Exam. Upon relocating to the United Kingdom, Christy started a successful website to help other expat women navigate the transition across the pond. Her website became a hugely popular resource for American women in London.
Christy was always a social drinker, but found that, in her 30s, the stress of being a working mom caused her drinking to increase. In 2018 she lost her mother and her drinking increased. Although everything looked fine on the surface, Christy knew she had to regain control of her life, for herself and for her family.
In 2020 as the UK went into lockdown, Christy found This Naked Mind and spent the pandemic reading everything she could get her hands on to find freedom from alcohol. Then, in the hopes of, once again helping fellow mothers in both the US and UK, Christy completed her coaching certification.
If you’re a mom, who looks like she’s got it all together, but you’re secretly exhausted, stressed and looking to reevaluate your drinking with a compassionate and fun friend, Christy is your girl! Christy offers bespoke 1:1 coaching, and will work with you to develop a coaching relationship that suits your busy schedule.

What you will learn in this episode:
    • How Christy believed alcohol was the key to connection (8.00)
    • Why days ' Alcohol-Free' is not the secret to freedom (16.00)

  • Emma Gilmour: An Adventure in Self Love
15/02/2021Present and Sober Podcast Episode 37Emma Gilmour: An Adventure in Self Love

Not only is Emma a beautiful spirit but she is also a qualified counselor, psychotherapist & This Naked Mind coach, living in Melbourne, Australia. Emma worked for 20+ years in corporate marketing and despite looking like she had it all, she was 'running on empty' on the inside using caffeine and booze to keep herself afloat. As she reached her mid-forties, alcohol started to take more than it was giving and so began her long and very messy break-up with booze. Nothing stuck until her eldest asked her to 'stop bringing wine into their bedroom' then it finally landed for her.

Emma started the process of rebuilding herself as an adult, with nurturing care. She discovered her values, stopped drinking, and had to create a whole new identity. Kicking the booze to the curb gave Emma a previously unknown level of confidence and personal power to pursue her dreams and become a qualified counselor and coach. Still very much a work in progress, Emma is an Aussie-based peri-menopausal mum of neuro and gender-diverse teens. She loves stand-up paddleboarding, ocean swimming and has recently purchased some gorgeous hot pink roller-skates. The focus of her coaching work is women in midlife curious as to what could open up for them and their families if they took a break from or stopped drinking. Come join us for an adventure in self-love!

What you will learn in this episode:
    • Emma's journey with Corporate life and alcohol (18.00)
    • What you are (and are not) responsible for (30.00)
    • Why working with the CNS is so important (30.00)
