This is a great exercise to do whether you are currently experiencing anger or not. Learning to process our anger is key to holding inner peace. This mediation will give you the tools so that when the anger monster gets stroppy we know how to deal with it!

Anger is an emotion that we are often made to feel ashamed of - especially as women. It is a totally normal and rational emotion to have! You would not be human if you never felt anger. However, the psychological and physical affects that it can have on us are not desirable. We want to be able to manage and moreover, understand our anger. Raw anger is an emotion - emotions are fleeting, but it is the feelings underneath the anger that we need to dig into and work through.

In this meditation I lead you through a release of this emotion to help you better understand your anger and to process it in a healthy way. I also give you a physical release for your anger. We process anger in the liver and so giving it gentle attention and release is a double whammy of shedding the anger that we will no doubt at some point feel. I hope that this helps!

We all crave freedom in our lives and this may look different for everyone. We might want freedom from pain, either emotional or physical, freedom to do as we please, freedom from the weight of responsibility, freedom from the busy-ness of our lives. What does freedom look like for you? Maybe it is a physical place – the top of a mountain, a deserted beach, maybe it’s being on your own doing the things you love, that bring you joy.

What kind of freedom does your heart crave? Perhaps it’s financial freedom, maybe it’s physical freedom, freedom from a habit or behaviour. We may want freedom from worry, stress, confusion, doubt, insecurity… The list seems endless! We often debate whether we would trade one type of freedom for the other! But what we frequently forget is that true freedom is mental and emotional freedom. The freedom to be yourself, to be calm whilst the world’s chaos whirls around us.

True freedom does not come from being able to change our external life but from being able to manage our inner life. True freedom is not being afraid of changing circumstances, being able to step out of our comfort zone and be able to face fears with inner calm. True freedom is being able to work through disappointments and setbacks and be patient.

In essence true freedom is living your life on your own terms and defining your own success from within. It is living in your authentic truth – when you feel free, you are living in alignment with who you truly are.

Sometimes we all need to protect our energy! We know that we are perhaps entering a potentially hostile or energy draining situation and so this quick protection meditation will give you the sense of safety that you might need. Even if you do not feel as if you need it this is a great technique to have to hand. Use it frequently, so that you are familiar with it and can utilise it when you feel that your energy is potentially being compromised. In this meditation I ask you to choose a symbol of protection and you can really use anything, as long as it truly resonates for you it will be effective.

Inspired by the Goddess Pythia, who was the Oracle of Delphi at the Temple of Apollo, this meditation asks us not only to investigate what ritual we mihgt like to develop around our meditation practice, but also to trust in the innate wisdom that we have within ourselves to answer the questions that come up for us in life. Before Pythia would give her answers to those who came from far and wide to hear her wisdom, there was a significant ritual. Humans love ritual and by developing your own it will send a clear signal to mind, body and spirit that you are taking time to go within, time to find the clarity that is there at the Third Eye Chakra.

Trusting that we already have within us everything we need to answer the questions that come up in our lives is hugely comforting. We all have the potential to be Pythia - we just need to trust in ourselves, and find the quiet space to listen to the Third Eye wisdom.

Todays meditation contains techniques to help you manage anxiety and was brought about by a request from a listener. Chronic anxiety can become embedded within us as a trauma response, a mechanism that has been set in place by the body to be in a state of constant alert. When this happens the stress hormones will affect the gut bacteria and IBS becomes an issue for many. Knowledge that you have techniques that directly impact the nervous system is hugely empowering.

Even if you do not suffer with IBS these techniques - diaphragmatic breathing, Nadi Sodhana and an effective mind quietening technique - are incredible tools to have in your kit bag for coping with life. I hope that you can incorporate them into your daily practice.

Today's meditation is a simple one - a remembrance that we all have a deep well of contentment within us that we are able to access and feel. As we move towards a new season it is helpful to set simple intentions. Whilst this is a good thing to do, we don’t want to pressure ourselves into feeling like we have to rush headlong into an urgent sense of having to do or achieve. The most transformative realisations come when the mind is soft, open and receptive. We need to let go of that which no longer serves us, let go of regrets and embrace our intentions with a softness that does not bully or berate us, but that engenders a sense of optimism and contentment. I hope that this mediation will bring you a remembering that you have this already within you!
