    QUOTES ON SAVORING LIFE
We see God face to face every hour, and know the savor of Nature. –Ralph Waldo Emerson

I savor life. When you have anything that threatens life … it prods you into stepping back and really appreciating the value of life and taking from it what you can. –Sonia Sotomayor

“You have stories worth telling, memories worth remembering, dreams worth working toward, a body worth feeding, a soul worth tending, and beyond that, the God of the universe dwells within you, the true culmination of super and natural.” Shauna Niequist

It’s rebellious, in a way, to choose joy, to dance, to love your life. It’s much easier and much more common to be miserable. We could just live our normal, day-to-day lives, saving all the good living up for someday, but I think it’s our job to live each day like it’s a special occasion, because we’ve been given a gift.” Shauna Niequist
SAVORING LIFE AND THE SEASON IN THE REAL SENSE OF IT
It’s one thing to talk about savoring life and savoring the season you are living in, but it’s a whole other thing to live it out and do so fully. Savoring life is as Shauna Niequest said, REBELLIOUS.   It is uncommon. It is necessary. Doing so will make you stand out – it will make you a leader among your peers and will inspire others you might not have even imagined would notice.

To savor life take note of it – document little ways you slowed down and connected with life that you might not have otherwise done. It’s imperative that you celebrate and acknowledge your growth and increase awareness and engagement.
7 WAYS TO SAVOR YOUR SEASON RIGHT NOW

    * Recognize that there is an end to each season (don’t get overwhelmed or locked into the belief of permanency – believe in change).
    * Look for the lessons and beauty that surround you.
    * Acknowledge what frustrates you about the season and find a way to express gratitude towards it.
    * Capture memories that strike you (note the lessons, beauty, take-aways, etc.) and make a commitment that each season of your life is a season of growth.
    * Decide to bloom where you are planted (don’t wish your season away and don’t just survive it, thrive in it).

A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts.

    –James Allen
    TRAIN YOUR THOUGHTS:
    James Allen Quotes:

Good thoughts and actions can never produce bad results; bad thoughts and actions can never produce good results.

Man’s mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild; but whether cultivated or neglected, it must, and will, bring forth.

Every thought-seed sown or allowed to fall into the mind, and to take root there, produces its own, blossoming sooner or later into act, and bearing its own fruitage of opportunity and circumstance. Good thoughts bear good fruit, bad thoughts bear bad fruit.

Take the training of your thoughts, as seriously as you do the training of your body, or the training you would go through for your dream job. The training you do affects everything about how you life and about how you see and experience the world.

    Create “thought-time” in your life.

    -Open time to think

    -Open time to learn

    -Undistracted silence and space

    -Daily input and daily output

-Freedom to explore ideas without judgment
    THINK YOUR WAY TO GREATNESS
There is no physician like cheerful thought for dissipating the ills of the body; there is no comforter to compare with goodwill for dispersing the shadows of grief and sorrow.

As the physically weak man can make himself strong by careful and patient training, so the man of weak thoughts can make them strong by exercising himself in right thinking.

    * Decide what your greatness looks like
    * Reign in your thoughts with serious training
    * Surround yourself with people who want to think greatness into their lives as well
    * Know that you have something to contribute
    * Ignore hesitation and focus on action
    * Have strong thoughts by reviewing them often
    * Believe that life has greatness awaiting

Hi Trish, after your podcast about self love I felt compelled to post this to my Facebook. The responses I got from my friends was astounding. I have been on a long journey and your podcasts have been so helpful. I am in the process of coming off antidepressant medication and have been ok but slowly adjusting so this podcast really resonated with me. Thank you. It was so lovely to hear some words of affirmation from my friends and lift my spirits a little through this challenge.

PERFECT TIMING, IT EXISTS AND IT DOESN’T
Perfect timing is this very moment – too often we wait for something obvious to happen, for a sign or for something to feel right and comfortable … and in doing that, we are missing the real window of perfect timing.

Perfect timing exists when you decide to take action, and since every moment is an opportunity to take action, then perfect timing is possible in every moment.
MOTIVATING YOURSELF WHEN YOU DON’T FEEL MOTIVATED
Don’t wait to feel motivated, start taking action and then you will feel motivated.

Motivation isn’t a magic powder … something that happens unexpectedly or only to the lucky few or the prepared few … it is something that you can create right now through taking action.

The number one way to kill motivation and action is by letting self-doubt linger in your mind … notice I expect it to be there, just like personal hygiene, we must brush it away.

We are all motivated and committed in some sense of the words – either towards something positive and progressive in life or towards something stagnant or regressive – so, you’re putting forth the energy already, which route do you want to go with it?

7 WAYS TO CREATE PERFECT TIMING FOR ANYTHING

    * Take Action.
    * Tell Yourself that Your Time is NOW.
    * Value the Gift of the Day
    * Get a Mentor – Believe In Your Potential
    * Be Allergic to Procrastination
    * Know That You Are Already Motivated & Capitalize on That
    * Declare Yourself A Life-Long Learner

HOW TO FOCUS IN THE FACE OF DISTRACTION
To overcome distraction (which we will dive into right after this) you must identify what distraction is in your life and how it side rails you. As with anything, it’s impossible to address something that you don’t have a strong grasp on or mastery of in your own awareness.

    My personal distractions I identified:

    Comparison

    Self-doubt

    Embarrassment

    Lack of urgency / procrastination

    Absence of belief

Over fatigue and inability to focus

OVERCOMING DISTRACTION / HOW TO MINIMIZE IT IN YOUR LIFE

    * Know what matters to you
    * Know the obstacles that lie ahead
    * Know how to plan ahead
    * Know your limits
    * Know how to ask for help

DISTRACTION IS SOMETHING YOU CAN CONTROL
Refuse to buy into being busy.

Reduce the distractions you allow into your life

    Stop trying to multi-task.

Focus on doing what you can do, well, and ask for help for the rest
5 FOCUS STRATEGIES TO HELP YOU THRIVE

    * Schedule your priorities every week and review them every evening.
    * Put your vision or purpose statement somewhere you will see daily.
    * Create more open space and time for yourself every day.
    * Intentionally have more fun and non-productive time.
    * Always set deadlines for yourself and follow through on them.
