    * Open Q&A from some pre-submitted questions about food and exercise habits

5 WAYS TO HAVE A BETTER RELATIONSHIP WITH FOOD

    * Stop judging yourself.
    * Stop expecting others to judge you.
    * Stop attaching guilt to food
    *  Start celebrating the fuel that food provides.
    *  Start giving yourself permission to find pleasure in food.

    YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED:
How do I learn to eat without guilt?

How do I stop the habit of tasting/spitting?

How to overcome emotionally dieting even when you aren't on a physical diet... How to not feel guilt and fear (and then shame) while indulging even though you know it is acceptable.

I feel like I have no sense of satisfied or full. I can eat and eat, stuff myself until I can’t breathe, and then eat again 15 minutes later.

I always have a hard time not beating myself up if I don’t eat on my plan - how would you stop that?

Not sure how to reframe as a question but..When I see a picture of myself I don’t like I get down on myself, like it will ruin my whole day since I will think I am a failure or something but I know my mind is playing tricks on me and what I see!

If you’ve struggled with orthorexia- and binge eating disorder. How to get stronger over the many ‘triggers’ that make you want to go back to your old habits. And also how to not let others food choices (who are close to you) effect yours. (If other people you are around are eating poorly, or eating junk food, how to have it not make you want to constrict and be obsessive and eat super healthy to overcompensate out of fear for your health and theirs) I know that may sound silly

How do you choose wisely after recovering from binge eating? How do you overcome food fears? I tell myself I want “food freedom” but then often regret even a small indulgence. I never learn from my experience. I just repeat the same issues and then want to go back to dieting which I fear will lead to further binges

Perhaps how to make food choices easier - I eat crap when crap is right there. I also have a harder time when I have to seek out healthier food, so I skip it all together. I don't necessarily beat myself up about it, but in trying to eat well I end up not eating enough.

How to overcome emotionally dieting even when you aren't on a physical diet... How to not feel guilt and fear (and then shame) while indulging even though you know it is acceptable.

I haven’t known anyone other than you, that has experienced an eating disorder so I did a little research. l am curious to know what some of the disordered eating habits are and where is the “line” between having a restrictive diet for fitness goals and an emotional eating disorder.
Also might be good to talk about body dysmorphia.

7 REASONS SEASONS OF SINGLNESS ARE IMPORTANT
    PODCAST #248:
In this episode of The Confidence Podcast we’re chatting about:

    * Relationships – and how they start with yourself!
    * Investing in yourself as a single person would, even if you aren’t single
    * Expecting the best in life by being your best

As always, a quick hello to all of my Keep the Faith listeners, thanks for being a part of this extended community of contagious encouragement.

Being alone can be hard. Sometimes we choose to be alone. Sometimes it's not by our choice. Sometimes we feel alone even when we are surrounded by others or are in a relationship.  I want you to know that being alone isn't always bad.

In fact, I attribute the joy I feel and the confidence I have in who I am today to the years that I spent in singleness feeling like no one would ever understand me or get me.  There is a gift that comes from being single or being alone - it's not a easy gift to unwrap, but I promise, there is beauty in the season if you open your eyes to it.

Whether or not you are single, or if you just feel alone and misunderstood, I want you to take a moment right now to say "thank you" to your season.  As Mandy Hale, author of The Single Woman: Life, Love and a Dash of Sass, says, “Being brave enough to be alone frees you up to invite people into your life because you want them and not because you need them.”  There are some beautiful things that come from being by yourself and, thanks to some listener requests from you all (thank you, awesome #BeMoreMovement), I put together an entire podcast episode on how to thrive in your season of singleness. If you are ready to see the strength that comes from seasons of solitude, then pop some earphones in and listen to this week's episode, episode #248 of #TheConfidencePodcast in iTunes or at www.trishblackwell.com/248
7 REASONS SEASONS OF SINGLENESS ARE IMPORTANT

    * Being single gives you time to get to know yourself.

    * Being single opens your eyes to what you want in life.

    * Being single empowers you to be confident in who you are – preparing you to be healthy and ready for the right person.

    * Being single teaches you patience and faith.

    * Being single forces you to stay in the present and to plan out your own future.

    * Being single challenges you to never compromise.

    * Being single prepares you to be more every day – and to expect nothing less but the best from your future partner as well.

    Dear Trish,

I'm a 22-year-old college student, and I started listening to Confidence on the Go a few months ago. I can't tell you what a difference it has made in my confidence, my motivation, and my happiness. Your podcast helped me gain back a foundational sense of joy after a toxic relationship sent me into a terrible depression.  I'm still working on building my confidence, and I have a long way to go, but thank you so much for helping me to believe that I can build the life...

  • #247: HOW TO REPLACE BAD HABITS WITH GOOD ONES

HOW TO REPLACE BAD HABITS WITH GOOD ONES
    PODCAST #247
In this episode of The Confidence Podcast we’re chatting about:

    * How to identify the habits that hinder you
    * Identifying the mental thinking habits that block you and breaking up with them
    * The secret to forming good habits that last

As always, a quick hello to all of my Keep the Faith listeners, thanks for being a part of this extended community of contagious encouragement.
IDENTIFY THE HABITS THAT HINDER YOU
Start with just three and write them down.

Identify why you have faulted to those habits.

Next, identify why they don’t serve you anymore.

Habits are automated behaviors that we have taught ourselves – so don’t forget that you are boss, not your habit – and habit reformation is a very feasible process for anyone to do.

    1).

    2).

    3).
KNOW WHY THEY HOLD YOU BACK AND DECIDE TO BE READY TO BREAK UP WITH THEM
    Have a ceremony.

Separate yourself now from who you used to be.

Personify the habit and detach it from you.

Change the way you speak about yourself and your tendencies ( I “always” … / I’m a ____ thinker / etc)
NOW IDENTIFY WHICH ‘THINKING HABITS’ NEED TO GO
Stinking thinking is a habit. It’s a mental approach to the world around you.

Notice what are the first natural recourses to which your mind goes – and assess from there.

Ask yourself what kind of thinking habits you have – and then identify which one needs to go.

    Examples:

    Negative thinking

    Anxious thinking

    Productivity obsessed thinking

    Busy thinking

    Stressed thinking

    Fearful thinking
BREAK UP WITH THEM BY REALLY UNDERSTANDING HOW YOUR LIFE WILL CHANGE WHEN YOUR MINDSET CHANGES
In the same way you break up with someone in a bad relationship, look at your thinking patterns as toxic.

Just because you know something is bad for you doesn’t make it any easier to break up with.

Work through the breakup and the newness – the leaving of your comfort zone – by being OPEN. Know that new thinking will make you feel free and different and focus on where it will take you. In the meantime, in the process, focus on being at peace and at one with the unknown. It is a reinvention / transformation process – and remember, if how you were thinking before didn't work for you, then what do you have to lose by trying it a new way?
THE SECRET TO FORMING GOOD HABITS THAT LAST:
Knowing that you can be consistent – that you have stamina – and that you are capable of change.

Stop thinking about yourself statically; think about the possibilities

    >C O N S I S T E N C Y <

So, how do you stay consistent?

Consistency Tracker – establish a pattern

Believe you can keep the pattern

Expect small steps and small wins

Get yourself in a community and surrounded by people who are striving to thrive like you

Believe that you can change and that that change is sustainable

  • #245: HOW DOING LESS CAN HELP YOU DO MORE

HOW DOING LESS CAN HELP YOU DO MORE
    PODCAST #245:
In this episode of The Confidence Podcast we’re chatting about:

    * The difference between doing work and doing work that matters
    * How to really believe and remember on a consistent basis that what you do matters
    * Letting go of doing it all so that you can do it better and live better

As always, a quick hello to all of my Keep the Faith listeners, thanks for being a part of this extended community of contagious encouragement.
DOING WORK VS. DOING WORK THAT MATTERS
-client clarity and vision; know what matters

-batching work and being smart about productivity

-champagne moments to drive higher focus and engagement

-identify why your drive for being busy is there

(for me is was anxiety over being “enough” so I made up for it by doing more; I had a lack of surety in worth so I substituted that lack with performance

-avoidance of addressing whole-heartedly what really matters (fear of failure or disappointment)
WHAT YOU DO MATTERS, STOP SECOND-GUESSING YOUR VALUE
-Be clear about what matters to you

-Noticing details that drive up the quality of your life – quality time triggers memory creation which are tied to a feeling of being connected, loved, understood and confident.

STOP LIVING FRIDAY TO FRIDAY – IT”S EQUIVALENT OF LIVING PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK
LETTING GO OF DOING IT ALL SO THAT YOU CAN LIVE BETTER AND DO BETTER
Check out the blog post that spills it all: www.trishblackwell.com/doless

We live out the experience of our choices, and so if you aren't happy with how you are living, then it's time to take a serious look at the choices you are making or have made to get you to where you are.

If you want to change your life, change your choices.

Make the choice to prioritize what matters to you.

Make the choice to thrive, instead of survive.

Make the choice to believe in abundance.

Make the choice to see beauty and opportunity instead of stress.

Make the choice to build in more margarin.

Make the choice to have time for kindness and connection.

Make the choice to say "no" to stress and busyness.

When we try to do it all we end up missing out on it all. Doing it all distracts us from what really matters in life. It warps our understanding of our self-worth. It creates a baseline of internal anxiety as we live in incongruence - working hard to show others that we are "keeping it all together " with ease, when really we are overextended, emotionally depleted and flat out exhausted from relentlessly spinning our wheels and putting on our show.

    Let's slow down.

    Let's do less.

Let's separate "success" and "worth" from productivity and busyness.

    Let's connect more.

Let's do things we love and that bring us joy.

    Let's stop comparing.

Let's start believing in living "beautifully".

    Let's be more kind.
    ANNOUNCEMENTS
I want to walk alongside you as you take the leap of faith that "less is more" and as you learn to step out of the busyness of surviving so that you can step into the beautiful flow of thriving.  You don't need to "do it all" in order to reach your goals and live the life of your dreams, trust me.  You have all of the tools you need and the courage within you to thrive and excel - you just...
