Today we’re sharing a recap of our trip to Leavenworth. We went to Leavenworth the first week of December to shoot holiday content. And we’re excited to share highlights of our trip.
Where we stayed:
One of the highlights of our trip was staying at the Post Hotel. We booked our stay at the Post Hotel back in June 2021. We were shocked we had to book 6 months in advanced, but we know the Post Hotel is extremely popular, especially during the holiday season.
Things we did: Visit Leavenworth Reindeer Farm
One of our favorite things we did on the trip was visit the Leavenworth Reindeer Farm. Reservations are required ahead of time. The Leavenworth Reindeer Farm is popular for families and tourists, so we recommend booking your visit well ahead of time.
Tune in for the rest of our trip!

Today, we’re sharing 4 things we don’t share on social media. While we do share a lot of our lives through photos and videos, there’s a lot we don’t share! We want to talk about this today to remind you that you determine what you want to share online. You don’t have to share everything if you don’t want to.

Today we’re going to be discussing how we figured out niches over time. We’ll be reflecting on what work, what didn’t, and how we figured out what type of content we wanted to create for our brands and audiences.

Today we’re sharing a few important things you don’t see behind the scenes about brand collaborations. Brand partnerships are the main way we earn money as creators so we thought it would be helpful to hear what happens before you see that edited, sponsored post on your Instagram feed.
The first thing you don’t see behind the scenes is the back-and-forth communication that happens with brands. Since I’m (Emma) still self-represented, I manage the relationship and the collaboration from start to finish.
For example, I can spend between 1-2 hours just learning the statement of work and negotiating the rate and deliverables with the brand. Sometimes it takes a full week of negotiation before contracts are even in place.
Secondly, you don’t see the content creation process. It takes so much time to shoot, select, and edit the content.

Today we’re going to be sharing a few tips on how to land a hotel collaboration as a creator or influencer. If you’re interested in pitching hotels this season, we hope you enjoy this podcast episode.
Tip #1: Before you pitch, are you already posting travel related content?
Before we get into reaching out to hotels, you have to stop and ask yourself, “am I already producing travel related content?” Are you producing travel tips or sharing your travel stories? Can people look at your Instagram or blog and see that traveling is one of the main things you do?
One of the biggest mistakes influencers make is trying to work with hotels when their content doesn’t have anything to do with travel or lifestyle. Like any other brand, hotels are going to look at your profile and determine if your content aligns with their brand/mission.

In today’s mini-sode, we’re sharing 3 sale techniques to apply to your creative career. Both Maddy and I did the Sales Certificate program in undergrad. We’ve both used what we’ve learned in sales and applied our degrees into being content creators.
Sales technique #1: Understand and uncover different motivation types
Understanding different motivation types is helpful as an influencer or content creator.
Understanding why your audience is motivated to follow, engage, and be a part of your community is critical for building an engaged audience
· For example, for the Content Creatives Podcast, we know our podcast audiences are most likely motivated by:
o Growth: people listen because they’re motivated by self-development and change. Aspiring creatives and influencers want to know how to build their brands, audiences, and figure out how to make money with their influencer career.
o Social Factors: Our podcast listeners are most likely also motivated by social factors – so they yearn to be accepted by a group or feel like they belong to a community. They might feel driven to make a difference in others lives and connect with likeminded individuals in their niche or share similar passions.

With 2022 just around the corner, you’re probably thinking about new goals you want to set as a content creator. There are so many ways to grow as a creator. Today, we’re sharing few ways you can set some intentions around growth this year.
“Growing” as a content creator and influencer means different things for different people. Some people view growth as a follower number and others view growth as a mastery of skill. Here are 6 ways you can define growth as a content creator:
1. Financial goals – Meeting your revenue targets
One way you might define growth in your brand and business is meeting your revenue targets. Many fortune 500 businesses, small businesses, and content creators define growth with monetary value in mind.
2. Diversifying your platforms
Another way you might define growth as a content creator is expanding your brand by diversifying your platforms.
In 2022, you might have your eyes set on developing and cultivating your YouTube channel.
Or you might have a goal to launch your own podcast. You want to own a platform and channel outside of Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. And you want to be able to publish content without the influence of changing algorithms.
Tune in for the other 4 ways to define growth.

Today we’re going to be sharing a few tips on comparing yourself to others on social media. Everyone gets caught up in the comparison game. You aren’t alone if you’ve ever started to feel bad about what you don’t have. But there are ways to pivot your mindset and stop comparing yourself to others.
Tip #1: Be aware of your triggers
One of the first steps in stopping the comparison game is to take step back and be aware of your triggers. There are probably specific situations that might cause you start comparing yourself to others.
· Is it seeing people on vacation that triggers you?
· Is it seeing others share shopping hauls?
· Is it seeing others make money?
Chances are that these triggers exist because of some previous experience you’ve had or belief you’ve accepted in your life. We recommend identifying the triggers and then writing down why it’s not a productive use of your time to dwell on what others are doing.
Tip #2: Remember social media is a highlight real
Another way to break the comparison cycle is to remind yourself that social media is a highlight real. People are sharing photos and videos of those incredible destinations after the content has been edited. People probably aren’t sharing:
· The time it took to travel to the top of the mountain
· The time spent road tripping to a location
· Bad weather or hiccups along their trip
There is so much left off social media.
