Today, we’ll be sharing different ways content creators can explore making money online. There are so many ways to monetize your career as an influencer. We want to introduce you to 5 income streams influencers can use to build their businesses.
#1 One way influencers can make money online is through brand partnerships
One way content creators can monetize their influencer is by working with brands. Brands hire content creators to produce short form/long-form videos, photos, and copy (written work).
There are many reasons why brands choose to hire influencers for brand campaigns.
#2 Content creators can sell either digital or physical products.
Another way influencers can make money is by creating their own physical products.
If you’ve seen influencers sell sweatshirts, t-shirts, or jewelry or open their own Etsy shops, that’s another way influencers can bring in money.
There are other content creators who choose to sell digital products like media kits, presets, or e-books.

Today, in honor of mental health awareness month, we will be sharing 6 ways that you can practice self-care as a content creator or influencer! Mental health is so important in our field, so we are excited to share these tips with you.
The first way is to find a posting schedule that works for you.
One of the biggest misconceptions we have about ourselves as creators is that we need to be posting all. the. time. This simply isn't the case! The amount of energy that goes into each post can be incredibly draining if you're aiming to post every day. Whether you're working a full time job, or have other priorities that are using up your energy, posting every day may not be feasible for you as a creator.
Consistency as a creator is still incredibly important, so we recommend experimenting and finding a posting schedule that works for your energy levels and external commitments on a weekly basis.
If that looks like posting once a week, great! If it looks like posting twice a day, that's awesome too! It's important to remember that posting less will not make your content less valuable, in fact, it may improve your content because you are giving more energy and attention to each post!
The second way is to log off of social media.
When social media is your job it's hard to draw the line on when you should and should not be online. But, like any job, set work hours are incredibly important for your mental health!
If your schedule doesn't allow for designated hours or days off, that's OK too! Just remember to try and log off every once in a while. Remember: your mental health is a priority. It's OK to take time off when you need it, your audience will understand and they'll still be there when you return.

Our very first mini-sode is up! We'll be sharing mini-sodes at the end of each week.
Today we’ll be sharing 6 essential things to pack for influencers and content creators heading out to a content trip. We recently took our first trip together after an entire year and we wanted to share the things we packed that make a big difference for our content trips.
Travel Item #1 for Influencers and Content Creators: Camera Bag
Travel Item #2: Tote bag
If you’re planning on making 1-2 outfit changes, we recommend traveling with a medium to large size tote bag.
You can use a canvas type of tote bag or you can even invest in nicer tote bag from Vera Bradley. We personally use a canvas tote bag – we throw outfits, extra pairs of shoes, water bottle, our wallets, etc. into our bags
Travel Items #3: Extra SD card + Extra camera battery
If you’re traveling all day, you might not get a chance to come back to your hotel or Airbnb and charge your camera battery. It’s better to be safe and have an extra camera battery charged
Also, if you don’t get a chance to delete old photos off your SD card, it’s nice to have a back-up SD card .

If you are an influencer or content creator looking to partner with brands on Instagram, TikTok, or your blog, this podcast episode is for you.
This content creation/influencer journey certainly hasn’t been easy for either of us! There’s been a lot of trial and error, lots of questions, and plenty of research. Everything we are sharing today is what we wish we knew when we first started, but if you’re interested in learning more about how we actually started we recommend going all the way back to the first two episodes to learn more about our respective journeys.
STEP #1: Find a Topic You Are Passionate About (Your Niche)
When starting your career as a content creator or influencer, one of the most important things to know going in is what you’re going to be talking about. You have to know what topics you want to cover, and why.
STEP #2: Define Your Ideal Audience & Where They Are
Now that you know what you want to talk about, it’s important to understand who you’re talking to. Identifying your audience will help you not only understand how to get your message across, but also how to build your audience.

Today, we’re sharing real life brand campaign offers we’ve turned down as a content creators. One thing we see in the influencer industry are influencers talking about how they consistently get low-ball offers for brand partnerships. We wanted to share that no matter what stage you’re at as a content creator, you’re still going to get low-ball offers BUT you will also receive opportunities that will match you at your requested rates.
Before we dive into real life examples, we want to first breakdown why brand choose to not pay or increase their marketing budgets for influencer campaigns:
Reason 1: A brand might be brand new to influencer marketing
The social media marketing team truly may have not allocated influencer marketing budget and they’re testing out working with influencers on a gifted basis.
Sometimes companies, whether they’re startups or established businesses, have to show their Chief Marketing Officers (CMOs) that influencer marketing makes sense for their business. And sometimes, that requires marketing teams to prove this out – so they’re working with either no or little influencer marketing budget.
Reason 2: There’s enough influencers willing to work on gifted basis and brand teams don’t have to spend money on sourcing or hiring influencers
Brands know content is expensive. Even if you have a photographer, a copywriter, and a social media manager in-house, you know it takes time, resources, and energy to produce content.
The first brand opportunity we discuss came into Maddy's inbox for a May 2021 campaign.
Deliverables: Take an afternoon to do an activity and showcase the brand’s sweepstakes

What do brands look for in content creators in influencers? What do creators need to be doing for their brands and platforms to get a brand's attention?
If you are an influencer or content creator looking to partner with brands on Instagram, TikTok, or your blog, this podcast episode is for you. Through years of working with public relations companies, influencer agencies, and brands directly, we’ve both learned what brands look for in content creators and influencers.
Brands look to see if: you’ve organically talked about the brand.
Brand teams will notice if you’ve been a longtime fan of the brand if you’re organically:
· Tagging the brand in-feed posts or on IG stories
· Using their brand hashtags (we’ve talked about this before on the podcast and onb Clubhouse) – You can see what hashtags brands are following by clicking on the brand’s “Following” (NOT followers), clicking “Hashtags”, and you’ll see all the hashtags the brand is following.
Brands also look to see if: you’re active on other platforms.
One reason why brands source influencers for social media marketing campaigns is to create multiple touch points with their (potential) audiences. If you’re able to provide more touch points to the brand, you’re able to extend the brand’s reach to your other audiences.
Even if you don’t have a massive following on Twitter or TikTok, having at least one other active platform is something to work towards as a content creator.

Today, we’re going to be sharing a few tips on how to prepare for an Instagram story takeover.
If a brand has asked you to do an Instagram story takeover or you want to pitch a brand for an Instagram story takeover, this podcast episode is for you. We hope these tips help you plan your next IG story takeover.
Tip 1: Before you start filming, get the brand’s requirements for the takeover.
You can ask for the brand’s creative brief or you can ask your point of contact on brand’s team what type of information they want included in the takeover. If the brand doesn’t provide you with a list of requirements, we recommend asking the asking the brand.
Tip 2: Before you start filming, create a high-level script or story board for the takeover
After you have the brand’s requirements, you can start to plan your takeover. We highly recommend getting this story board approved by the brand ahead of time because:
1. It will prevent re-work and re-filming.
2. The brand and you will be on the same page on what type of content to capture for the takeover.
3. You’ll go into filming more organized, and you know what content you need to capture.
For the rest of tips, tune into today's episode. Thank you to everyone in our Facebook group who submitted this question about preparing for an Instagram Story Takeover!
